All white on the night

Post by redwasp » Sat Apr 10, 2021 7:53 pm

What's going on?. Snowing like hell, nearly an inch deep in our garden up the top of town.

We had a brief flurry of snow about an hour ago, but it's now passed I think, mind you the temps are tipped to drop to way below freezing in the next few nights, so it might reappear again.

Just come off the phone to a friend of mine who lives off Briercliffe Road. He said it had been snowing heavily for over an hour yet there was no sign here. There is now though, it's snowing heavily.

Didn't the Port Vale v Morecambe game get delayed by about 30 minutes today because of the snow?

I'd no idea about that but the BBC are reporting that it was held up for 45 minutes

I was delayed in traffic on the M60 this morning due to an 11 car pile up, part blamed on the Heavy snow which never stopped while I was in Stockport from 8.30am till 12pm, roll on spring 🤔

A neighbour on his way to Buxton turned around near Stockport this morning because of the snow.

Sledging up Nelson golf club
Feels like we’ve gone back 2 months
Beautiful scene looking over Burnley
Views of Boulsworth, Gorple, Cliviger gorge, Crown point & Hameldon hill
3 points in 3 hours and it’ll be a good day

From my vantage point here you can see that the top of Hamelsonnis white but out towards Accrington & Whalley isn’t and Pendle isn’t that white either
It’s proper winter wonderland here
