Re: David Baldwin
The fact the new owners are humble enough to seek advise from respected people is only a good sign.

Re: David Baldwin
Nixon is about three months late with this one - Dave has been involved almost since the beginning of the year. He's not back as an employee at Burnley but I think this was always a positive move from the new owners.

Nothing was or has been confirmed. It was all just speculation a few weeks ago.
That said, good to hear if true.

Re: David Baldwin
The signs coming from the new owners are encouraging. Looks like they may have the required humility and wisdom.
Let's hope it comes together and works out.

What’s his next exclusive? JFK suspected to have been assassinated?

Re: David Baldwin
It wasn't speculation - he's been working with the owners for some time.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 10:49 amNothing was or has been confirmed. It was all just speculation a few weeks ago.

Re: David Baldwin
Good news. Shame that Hart didn’t fit in long term. Looked like one for the future. But Baldwin was always one of the better execs we have had.

Did he really look like one for the future and why should we employ someone to develop in such an important role?cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 11:38 amGood news. What I’d read and looking at his experience prior to taking up the role, it didn’t suggest he was right for the role now and quite possibly, not in the future either.

Re: David Baldwin
Never right for the role in so many ways. Dreadful appointment which was quickly dealt with by the new owners.DCWat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 11:42 amDid he really look like one for the future and why should we employ someone to develop in such an important role?

Re: David Baldwin
A good word to describe Hart is weak. Out of his depth unfortunately.

What were they? I’m not disputing that there may have been but I don’t recall seeing or hearing them?cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 11:47 amFrom what I saw had a lot of good ideas and a good long term vision.
Is there any possibility of Baldwin coming back on a more permanent basis?

Re: David Baldwin
He did a great job probably in the most difficult of times. And something even Dyche commented on.
But he didn’t suffer fools and didn’t pander to people and that’s why many didn’t like him.

Dyche got him a job here in the first place.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 12:04 pmHe did a great job probably in the most difficult of times. And something even Dyche commented on.

I don't know much about his job here but my gut feeling is I would prefer Baldwin back for the fans sake or one of the American big hitters mentioned around the takeover time for pushing the club forward.
Re: David Baldwin
What was it he did that warrants your ‘great job’ praise? The only thing of note that I can think of was negative and that was his comments around season tickets in the midst of the pandemic / lockdown.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 12:04 pmHe did a great job probably in the most difficult of times. He may not suffer fools, I don’t know. I’ve not seen anything to suggest that this was an issue of anyone opposed to him holding such a position.
Did his experience really suggest that was qualified or of a standard high enough to be operating at that level at a Premier League football club?

Re: David Baldwin
I don’t believe Dyche got him the community job at all. I don’t think it was any more than they’d been at Watford at the same time.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 12:14 pmDyche got him a job here in the first place.
