Twitter is broken on my phone. What's the excuse this time? Last week it was too long of a break. Any admittance that he got the tactics wrong?

In one!
Incredibly, has no qualms with the 2nd goal bust should have done better with the 1st.

Said that to say we blew it would be disrespectful to Newcastle. Weak bench, not ideal, details not there. Normal really.

Sadly our best ( and we dominated ) is no longer good enough even against the weakest sides . Newc were awful but took their chances extremely well so can’t complain

Its been Newcastle's easiest 6 points of the season. Today could so easily have been more goals for them, including a penalty

I know we have a weak bench, but I am sure Cork and Taylor should have been used.

I very rarely listen to Dyche's post match interviews these days, not because I am anti-Dyche, which I am not, but because I know roughly what he is going to say.

Very surprised and dissapointed Cork didn’t start today. Even more so the didn’t come on at HT.

Close game, determined only by 2 screaming goals and a nearly unplayable individual.
Without their injuries Newcastle would be at last mid-table.
No disaster.

It always amuses me when I read the reaction to SD interviews and to SD in general. When we win, he's great, lucky to have him, when we lose he talks rubbish, although he always says the same things. When we win a few, he's the best manager in the prem, when we lose a few he's a useless one trick pony. 😃😃😃

TBH, i think his public dissatisfaction with Mike Garlick would have been enough to get him sacked by plenty of chairmen.
I believe that, if not happy, he should have walked then.

Certainly not, unless Dyche himself fancies a new challenge.

The same lot who say he isn't good enough are the ones who shout "he is off to Palace etc (insert other team here)" one of the many reasons to take a back seat after losing a game and just have a glass of wine (or beer) and watch "Midsomer Murders" 😁

I just think there's a lot of dissapointment that sometimes Sean doesn't see things potentially coming and is too slow to react.I've posted on other threads, but the only way Newcastle were going to get a even a point, let alone an unthinkable win was when SM came on, yet we did nothing to combat their one and only person who could change the game. This defeat hurts me a lot more than the Saints one last week, as i think they are a far better side and have a much more potent forward line than Newcastle. We could, and should really now be in a position of safety but still have some work to do..on the plus side i thought we played pretty well at times, the final quality was lacking but that's why these players play for us and not Manchester City etc.. I also thought BPF had a decent game and looks a more than capable back up for Pope..Onwards and upwards..

Totally agree about playing well and also BPF having a good game. He looked very assured.

On the SD point, to be fair I’m not sure he had much time to react today. He came on & created and scored one within minutes. I would have been a big advocate of bringing Cork on at that stage but you have to trust the players to be able to hold him off for five minutes while he gets his subs ready & makes the change. As it happens, they couldn’t.

The way you stop a player like SM is to not let him turn... as it was on our left either left back or more usually left midfielder tracking back, or the centre half has to go man marking. He can then pull our defence out of shape at will... I’m not sure what you do once he’s running at you other than put him into the stand... but that is frowned upon these days. So would you have pulled Dwight at 1-0 or 1-1... the board really would have melted down if SD had changed it from a winning position... and for throwing the towel in at 1-1 had it backfired, either way it meant turning the heat down and stopping Newcastle instead of continuing to beat them all over the field.

We have a fine team and a superb manager.

We have lost players owing to chairman. We have not signed new players, owing to chairman.
We have debt, owing to chairman.
The bench is bare, owing to chairman.

Injuries are guaranteed...where is a properly sized squad?

What we do know is that none of the young kids, on the bench, are actually ready for prem football. (As you would expect)

Well done to the team and the manager. Let's get through this.

We will win again, when least expected.

We have been good to watch, these last 2 matches!

I really don't get all this Dyche bashing. Like earlier poster said he's the best manager Burnley have had for decades, and people want him to leave, boggles my mind. Some would like Wilder, no thanks!

Exactly! it's the extremes that amuse me, we go to Everton and win, and suddenly we're a great team and Europe beckons next term, then we narrowly lose to Southampton & Newcastle and SD is clueless and should be shown the door, the reality is we're a lower mid-table side in the toughest league in the world, and that's mainly due to SD, people were moaning that the football wasn't entertaining enough, now we're scoring and conceding it's because Sean has us playing too expansively, you just can't please peeps can you.
