I think that was a fair account by both managers. Bruce did not feel the two could start and there would have been dogs abuse for him had one pulled up after five minutes.
I think SD just did not believe ha had the players to counter them, and I have to agree. A fit Charlie on at left back for his pace, maybe but if those two stay fit, Newcastle would have been comfortably mid table, they are that important to them. I hope we can add in the summer, because we really need to, we need to be able to offer new problems and solutions from the bench and at the moment we can’t
