Our Samsung TV just keeps powering on and off so was going to take it to Geoff Hurlstones on Colne Rd - tried phoning but no reply and shop is shut.
Anyone recommend another TV repairer (Burnley area) please?

Brian's TV & Electronics 321 Manchester Road, Burnley? I don't know if he's retired or not, but you always try giving him a bell. 01282 431594

That's a shame if he's not available. I used him a few years ago and couldn't speak more highly of him.Vintage Claret wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 9:30 amOur Samsung TV just keeps powering on and off so was going to take it to Geoff Hurlstones on Colne Rd - tried phoning but no reply and shop is shut.

Re: TV repairs
I think less and less are doing repairs these days on the trail end of throw away years. I know I was told to refill a plasma screen is more expensive that buying a new TV a few years ago.At one time another valve (lightbulb) in the back and you were usually good to go.

Re: TV repairs
The kind of fault you have is usually very easy to repair. I repaired mine by doing a motherboard swap with one from eBay.. It may also be the power board though.
Sometimes it's even a case of replacing a few capacitors.

Thanks for the replies.
Yeah to be honest if it was going to be more than about 50 -60 quid to repair we'd probably say forget it and just buy a new one with a lesser spec as it's not our main TV.
