Re: Global Partnerships Associate job
A local aquarium to me recently advertised for a GM, they wanted 5 years experience, a degree and responsibilities included staffing, some HR, responsibility for overseeing the whole operation on a day to day basis....salary.....£18k...absolute joke!
Re: Global Partnerships Associate job
Isn't it basically a juniors job, working in a team being told what to do. They don't half gloss these job titles up these days, although it appears you have to bring your boots with you on a Saturday as it mentioned being a "Team player".
Talking of which, I'm looking for a Gastronomical Hygiene Technician (Dishwasher).

Don’t forget globalization of employment. We couldn’t get a person worth her / his salt locally for a good wage. Using Fiverr we had someone online overseas doing an exemplary job at half the cost. I’m not saying for one minute that’s the answer, but this “I wouldn’t get out of bed for that for less than xxxxK pounds with my experience” is perhaps an issue with virtual globalization of labor resources.

Re: Global Partnerships Associate job
As been pointed out if it’s a “junior” starting out to assist the main protein £18k isn’t bad, but for somebody with 3-5yrs experience £18k is an insult
Nobody should be asking for x amount of years experience anyway
Does somebody who has 4yrs experience working part time, have more experience of somebody working 2yrs full time?

Re: Global Partnerships Associate job
18k isn't a great wage for any decent job these days. The likes of Aldi & Lidl probably pay more. Was quite surprised to click on the link and see in basically the first line the wage was 18k - 22k plus bonuses. Why if you want to criticise the club wouldn't you put the full pay details rather than just use the lowest figure.
If as some are saying it is more of an assistant role then going in the middle and saying 20k a year plus bonuses may not be a bad wage for a junior role in Burnley. Why people put stupid comments like it is embarrassing god only knows. If it is embarrassing don't apply for it, if someone interested in the role finds the pay embarrassing then they won't apply either. The lengths people go to these days for a whinge is just weird.
People are allowed to play out with the easing of restrictions and the sun is shining, some need to let go of their embarrassment and go outside.

For a global partnership associate job, you need the ultimate global ambassador, a man who did a cracking job.

To be fair you have gone the complete opposite way.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 8:11 am18k isn't a great wage for any decent job these days. A job advertised as global partnerships associate is not an admin job as some people are making out. That role with 3-5 years experience and a degree is at a minimum 32-34k with bonuses.
So it’s as I said earlier, the recruitment team are either incompetent (can’t write a simple job description correct) or Burnley fc are significantly under paying.
Either way it just looks amateur.

Re: Global Partnerships Associate job
Then the role will go unfilled, still not really something to get bothered about.

Got to be a typo. Either way it’s embarrassing.

3-5 years experience is a desirable not essential requirement.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 8:53 amTo be fair you have gone the complete opposite way.

We don't if it represents significant underpay because we don't know how the bonus scheme will be remunerated.

Re: Global Partnerships Associate job
This may not be a great analogy BUT, if the new owners are going down the American route then it will be heavily bonus related in the same way that waitstaff are in the US crap wage and rely on tips....just a thought?

Re: Global Partnerships Associate job
This job ad popped up on one of my news feeds (I'm retired, so I'm not looking for a job and I won't be applying).
I don't understand the concern about the job description or the salary on offer.
"Associate" places the job near to the start of a career. It's not "the boss" just working with and assisting the head of Global Partnerships. It may suit a recent graduate, maybe someone who's done the "university college of football" training and is interested in a commercial career in that area. Many others could also consider if their skills and experience will fit the role and their career ambitions.
I've googled for job vacancies in Burnley (and surrounding area). The salary range for this role - before bonus - isn't that different from other jobs that are advertised on Indeed. I've also looked at starting salaries for (a) teachers and (b) nurses (grade 5). These may be a little higher, however, I'd expect both teachers and nurses start out with more responsibilities and expectations - and their career paths are very different.
The job description is well written and the general responsibilities and opportunities of the role are clear. (I can't see any indications of typos or misunderstandings).
If you fit the "person profile" and are interested in the role and a career in the commercial side of "elite" sport, then I'd recommend you take a look and consider applying.

That sort of salary wouldn't attract particularly high-flyers, or even people with a regular decent income.
