Tonight's footy 22/04

Post by evensteadiereddie » Thu Apr 22, 2021 9:23 am

We're getting down to it now. WBA have to win their next two games to keep any kind of pressure on us, irrespective of what we do.

Yep, Leicester and Villa away for West Brom & Fulham have Chelsea away (having already played one of the next 2 games originally scheduled) before we go to Fulham at the start of May.

Some even have a fear of West Brom escaping :D

I'm finding it hard to have any confidence in the better teams beating Fulham/WBA. I had a horrible feeling that Arsenal weren't going to beat Fulham, and I'll take Leicester getting a draw. As mentioned, draws aren't good enough for WBA, so 1-1 will do.

Don’t rule west Brom out of it just yet. They are 3 points behind Fulham with 2 games in hand.A win today and they will feel supremely confident. Villa away next who without Grealish are poor. We need something at Wolves whatever West Brom get from next 2 games. And Villa will have Cash suspended. Come on you Foxes

Maddison back for Leicester so hopefully he'll help pep up their attack, and Jamie Vardy is due a goal surely.

Important for us that West Brom's revival is stopped in it's tracks tonight, if they get 3 points here then they become an unwelcome danger, whereas a defeat makes their task very difficult.

Ideally we'll go to Wolves and bag the 3 points, and then whatever WB does becomes somewhat irrelevant.

But it would be nice to know they're still some way adrift before we ko on Sunday.

If nothing else, the one thing you would have thought Big Sam would have done when he became manager was tighten up their defence, but it's leaky as they come.

Well they might well be visiting Blackpool next season at this rate, and they definitely have plenty of donkeys in defence.

Leicester threatening to run riot here should have been 3.

We just need to do our own job. Pointless worrying about those below.

Would you swap our position for theirs? No chance.

Two wins and we are safe. Shame we didn’t get them in the last few games when we could have. But it would never be Burnley if it was boring.

That horrendous goal difference means WBA have, in effect, to get ten points to even pass us, assuming we get nothing in that time.

61 goals they've shipped now, and even Sheff Utd have only conceded 56, hard to stay up when you need to score 2 or 3 to win a game.

Good luck to them in clawing back that deficit, and we'll surely pick up a result sooner or later won't we.

3-0 as I type.

Yea but in reality 1 more win will be ample, I'd hope for a decent end to the season though, and maybe even climbing a place or two.

They have been unbelievably passive for a team in their plight, and although Leicester have played well, even they will be stunned how easy their goals have come about.
