Re: Carabao cup final
Nope! not watching and it doesn't sound the most thrilling affair given the amount of talent on display.
Couple that with Leeds and Man Utd's dour 0-0 draw, and apart from the Clarets 4 goal spree it's been a pretty uneventful day footy wise.

Re: Carabao cup final
Isn’t this an EPL match?
I hear it’s v one sided and the majority of footy fans Cba.
I’m sat in the garden, in the sun having a beer having thoroughly enjoyed the match between two historic clubs.....

How funny Laporte just scored when he shouldn't even be on the park.

Dreadful match. Awful showing from Spurs. Surely Ryan Mason will regret how he set his team up today for the rest of his career.

Re: Carabao cup final
Time for Harry Kane to leave Spurs, they’re an utterly pointless club going nowhere. He is far too good a player to waste his career at a club being mismanaged like Tottenham are by Daniel Levy. He could win the Ballon Do’r at the right club.

I hope other teams don’t follow Pep and not play a striker. Works for them because they are all class players with, above all, pace. As with the titty pattying around at the back what works for City doesn’t work for everyone.

Re: Carabao cup final
Interviewer asked Laporte if he was fearing he would get a yellow card for an incident before he actually got a yellow card. What a stupid question. Laporte would almost certainly not have made the second challenge if he was on a yellow. Refs should not be letting players away with cynical fouls regardless of the time on the clock though.

Didn’t even know this was on

Boring. After the lord mayors show. Another bought trophy for the oil soaked despot country.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 5:31 pmAnybody watching?

Re: Carabao cup final
Perhaps not but footballers sometimes act on instinct, so who knows whether he'd have pulled out or not.
And if Spurs thought potting Jose would bring success today then they were clearly mistaken, and their wait for a domestic trophy goes on.
Re: Carabao cup final
Iam not a Jose fan, but sacking a cup winner before a cup final is bonkers.

Re: Carabao cup final
Exactly I thought they'd have at least waited until the end of the season, and if he'd have led them to success today he could have bowed out having delivered a trophy, and it's not like Spurs win many is it, their last one was way back in 2008 in this particular tournament.
Spurs always the bridesmaids never the bride, and they seriously think they are equipped to join a ESL. Yes they've got a brand shiny new stadium, but a stadium doesn't make a team, and their squad needs a severe overhaul, Kane will almost certainly go, and TBH I can't blame him, he's not going to win anything at Sours is he.
Re: Carabao cup final
A very predictable one-zero win for the Sheikhs in the all ESL tie between the Emerati Blues and the North London Also-Rans.

Couldn't be arsed with it.
I really do not enjoy the type of football Manchester City play.

Re: Carabao cup final
The amount of sly, tactical fouls City get away with is unbelievable. Fernandinho is particularly bad.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 6:27 pmInterviewer asked Laporte if he was fearing he would get a yellow card for an incident before he actually got a yellow card. I can’t really say that I’ve actually missed the fans, on that showing. Why were they not social distancing and spread in little bubbles throughout the stadium? They were all cramped together on one side. The other side was empty.

Re: Carabao cup final
It was a test event wasn't it? No point testing fans sitting together if you're going to spread them apart.dermotdermot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 8:14 pmI can’t really say that I’ve actually missed the fans, on that showing. Re: Carabao cup final
Mate who attended said they were meant to sit in designated seats but most didn't, weren't meant to stand up and did. Stewards pretty ineffective
Be interesting to see if the test was a success

If it had been normal times would probably have watched it in the pub with a few friends but couldn't be arsed with it today.
Sounds like I didn't miss much and anyway nothing could have been as entertaining as that match between those two 130 odd year old ESL unworthy clubs earlier in the afternoon
