Mike Duff
Congratulations to that man.
Promoted with Cheltenham. What an achievement. And sure he’s learnt a lot from the managers he played under here.
Fantastic.

Excellent work. Doing well for one of his two teams. I wonder if history will repeat, during his management career?

Re: Mike Duff
I hope Dyche is here for many years to come. And I never think getting someone in just because they are ex Burnley is necesarily a good idea. But I think Duff would definitely be the exception to that.

Re: Mike Duff
Fantastic for one of the nicest most unassuming blokes ever to wear Claret and Blue.
He used to get ribbed to death for not treating himself, he saw no reason to change his Ford Fiesta... proper fella.

Re: Mike Duff
Smashing bloke and so pleased that he has won promotion. He is from a real football family and it is only a couple of years ago that his dad retired as head of Football Development in the Royal Air Force, a job he took over when he retired from the RAF after many years' service.
Josh Brownhill's brother was one of his charges a few years ago in what was a very good RAF team.
Congratulatons Michael --great to see.

I heard and interview with him on Talk Shite yesterday. There was certainly a sprinkling of Dyche in the way that he came across.
Chuffed for for Duff and Cheltenham.

Re: Mike Duff
Delighted for Duff, well deserved.
I should think he's got his hands full next season in league 1, not sure what the finances at Cheltenham are like, but what an opportunity.
Quite a few links with Cotterill and Mark Yayes both past managers

Re: Mike Duff
Brilliant achievement for Duffo but also, a big well done too, to Wade Elliott. God we’ve been blessed in the last decade and more. A brilliant achievement from them both.

I read somewhere he was raised in Bedale. Am I right in guessing his father was stationed at Leeming?Ashingtonclaret46 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 10:17 pmSmashing bloke and so pleased that he has won promotion. Re: Mike Duff
Maybe they should change the name of another pub in Burnley after him, a Burnley legend....to “The Duff”...
Then we can all say we’re going “up The Duff”!,

Backed them pre season at 14/1 to win it in an each way trixie, my dislike for Peterborough grows. Cashed out my bet at weekend so hopefully they don't catch Hull now.

Re: Mike Duff
Duff and Ben Mee have similar characteristics Ben will become a brilliant manager someday and when SD leaves I would welcome either of them to manage us. Congratulations to Mike Duff.

Re: Mike Duff
Fair play to him
Re: Mike Duff
A have a friend who is a life-long Cheltenham fan so we often talk about MD, and more recently, Wade.
Absolutely delighted for Michael who has done an amazing job. According to the local paper the club had the 17th lowest budget in League Two this season.
All been said before about Duffo, but an "old-style" pro - and that is what the modern game lacks - : total commitment, honest, hard-working, loyal. We were lucky to have him at our club.

Re: Mike Duff
When Dyche eventually leaves, we need to keep continuity with the core values that he has planted within the club, so people like Duff, Elliott, Ben Mee and Tom Heaton would be welcome coaches to potentially have in our setup for the future.

Re: Mike Duff
I can't confirm that because I was a musician and could only serve on 8 units during my time and Leeming wasn't one of them.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 11:22 pmI read somewhere he was raised in Bedale. Am I right in guessing his father was stationed at Leeming?
I knew him through a couple of units much further south and through RAF football in which I was very much involved and still am to a certain extent with my son.
