Predictions vs Hammers

Post by tiger76 » Mon May 03, 2021 1:56 pm

I can see goals tonight, both sides have strikers in form, Wood for us, Lingard for them, and neither have exactly looked watertight at the back in recent weeks have they.

I'll go for a frantic 2-2 draw, which for us would be acceptable, but perhaps not ideal for West Ham.

Didn't Michail Antonio return from a lengthy spell out injured, to punish us with a couple of goals, the last time that we played them at the London Stadium?

Let's hope history is not going to repeat itself.

He always seems to play well and score against us.

Hammers have had a very decent season but we're coming into good form too. Rice and Creswell probably out for them and Antonio probably wont make the start XI and maybe not even the bench.

A 2-1 win for us. Got to fancy Wood to knock at least one in.

Depends on their team. Lingard and Antonio both 50/50 but suspect they will both play. West Ham have to win. 2 draws in today’s games will be fine for us

Not a day to be risking 50/50’s to be honest. If I were Moyes I’d leave them both at home & save the travel (if they are genuinely injured).

Weather is horrific. I don’t even want to go to the gym never mind play football!!! Could be any score line.

If both Antonio and especially Lingard are absentees for them that would be a huge boost for us, I obviously knew Antonio has been out for a few games, but I wasn't aware of Lingard being a doubt for tonight. Like you I suspect if both are anywhere near contention David Moyes will play them, after the weekend results West Ham simply have to win tonight to have any chance of that 4th spot, I actually don't think they'll manage it now anyway whatever the result tonight. Leicester and Chelsea are proving too consistent to be caught.

Judging from the rain lashing in sideways on our Patio windows in Ightenhill, the phrase, " Do they fancy it on a wet, windy Monday night in Burnley ? " may well be used tonight !

Again depends on their line up but i just hope we test Fabianski with plenty of shots from all angles as well as keep getting those crosses in, keepers nightmare these conditions, just hope Pope's on song

Weather is so bad out there I don’t even want to leave the house to get in my car!

Certainly a “can they do it on a cold/windy night at Turf Moor” game. Must win for WHU but I do wonder if the conditions will play a part in Moyes’ team selection tonight.

Not as many injuries amongst the Hammers as we were maybe led to believe. Creswell, Antonio, Lingard all start. Rice is their only big miss.
