Ref isn't buying our diving for free kicks. Common Burnley how about actually playing some football. Come on.

Gotta feel for Vydra he’s the new Juke. However well he plays it won’t go in for him.

Apart from the penalty. What more do we deserve?

Vyds has been our best player tonight. Few others need to match his effort.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 8:50 pmGotta feel for Vydra he’s the new Juke. However well he plays it won’t go in for him.

West Ham have been good and this is a fact. This isn’t 10 man WBA, this is a genuinely quality side.

Re: Match thread . West Ham
West Ham look like a totally different team to the one that played at Newcastle.
Re: Match thread . West Ham
fair play, West Ham look excellent, I'm not mad at this.
Re: Match thread . West Ham
Taylor has been fine. It's the right hand side where we look vulnerable

Re: Match thread . West Ham
If we had better recruitment we could have easily had Antonio and Dawson playing for us tonight instead of them. Was clear just from the way Antonio played against us in the championship he'd make it in the Premier league.
Re: Match thread . West Ham
Polar opposite to us against Wolves. Pass, pass and hoof.

Sometimes you’ve gotta give the opposition the credit for not letting you play the way you want to.box_of_frogs wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 8:55 pmSideways, sideways, sideways, backwards, backwards, backwards, hoof.

Giving away leads becoming a worrying trend atm. Southampton, Newcastle and now today.

They’re finding so much space in between. Amazing what a bit of pace and movement brings.

Re: Match thread . West Ham
When McNeil gets the ball he has 3 on him. Cresswell has none. Lingard not even broken sweat yet
Re: Match thread . West Ham
You have to judge performances against the quality of the opposition, get to half time and come out strong for second half

Of course there are individuals at fault. Yes, we can sit back and admire how well West Ham have played but equally we need to adapt - be that personnel or system. Currently we aren’t managing them very well.

Re: Match thread . West Ham
Tarks man. Absolutely no other team in the world would have a player like Lowton looking after Antonio. Tarks should’ve been far more aware of Antonio’s position, but after that Lowton should have challenged for a ball that was in the six yard box. Give the corner away, just don’t leave it. It’s schoolyard stuff.superdimitri wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 8:48 pmHe wasn't, Antonio cleverly dropped back on the far post and then ran past Lowton to score. Lowton didn't see him and didn't attack the cross.
It was very similar to when he failed to defend the cross vs Southampton.
Argh. More naivety from us. We have a bad habit of sitting back and giving creative players lots of time. 3 clarets to get on the cross and all fail. Brownhill half ass blocking the cross.

We are not out of this yet.
Quick half time kick up the ass.
Then a miracle 2nd half.

Another poor performance.
Really concerning for next season, we have just looked so bad for the large spells this season.

Half time, they have played very well and closed us down with intensity all over the pitch. I dont think they can keep it going for 90 minutes though, we will have chances later in in the game.

Look on the bright side: After Diop showed Moyes why he needed a new centre half, Tarks has shown him that he's not the one to go for in replacing him.

David Moyes has us worked out. West Ham are better than I thought they were and we’re a bit after the Lords Mayors show tonight. Hopefully we can turn it up and turn it around second half UTC

Re: Match thread . West Ham
I think man marking ended some time ago. Fact was Antonio knows what he is doing and peels away from Tarkowski. Tarkowski isn't going to track him because he knows Lowton is there but Lowton doesn't even challenge for the ball.bobinho wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 9:03 pmTarks man. I honestly don't see how you can blame Tarkowski. But each to their own I guess.

Re: Match thread . West Ham
Lowton could barely stand up when they got the 2nd & they took advantage.
Hopefully we're better 2nd half. McNeil has been negated so far, maybe Gudmundsson for Brownhill would help?

West Ham very good today, not a great half from us but credit to the opposition today. Hope Dyche sorts it at HT.
I’d switch Dwight to the right, bring Pieters on and push Charlie up a bit.

Re: Match thread . West Ham
Moyes has done an excellent job there, but then again it hasn't come cheap. Worst thing we did was score and after that we've been battered by a way, way better side. Vydra was unlucky with the goal line clearance and their first goal contained more than one Burnley "assist" unfortunately

Re: Match thread . West Ham
Desperate for some creativity in midfield. The band in behind are all to predictable.
West Ham have that place and creativity to get forward quickly. 2/3 passes (on the floor) and they are big too big with 4/5 players.

Re: Match thread . West Ham
I was at Upton Park and Burnley were taking a pounding and I shouted 'Come on Burnley, let's have the winner' and everybody laughed... And then we scored!
Repeat.
Eventual score was 2-2 which was a good result.
That tonight would be good too, because Fulham would then require 4 wins from 4.
Liverpool going 68 (?) games unbeaten and then losing six in a row at home, what are the odds of that?
Two freak happenings in one season, is unlikely.
