That’s not really true is it? going into next season some managers will get the sack if a bad run happens what happened towards the back end of last season will get into account as a continuation. This coming season will not start off as a clean slate.

These sort of comments always make me laugh. We can’t expect more from a player, otherwise he’ll be playing for Real Madrid.

We get more than blocking, tackling and intercepting from Cork and Westwood - so yes - I’m wanting and expecting more from Brownhill.

He made on average 1 interception more a game than what our other CMs made and the other stats you mentioned are practically the same as Westwood and cork.

It’s not exactly worth the drop off in passing for the sake 1 extra interception a game.

I would like to see him in a midfield three, I think it could change his game. I just think in a two he doesn’t really work.

If you could put all the good things about Brownhill-his athleticism and challenging, his interceptions and pressing into Jack Cork, you would have one hell of a midfield player. Takes more than one ingredient to bake a cake

Wow... a Burnley transfer thread filled with pages justifying why the team that struggled to finish one place above the relegation zone last year is good enough to finish one place above the relegation zone this year because the teams around us have gotten much worse.

Near enough every thread as that potential to descend into people disagreeing I don’t understand why some people have problems with it when they aren’t even involved, having a neutral viewpoint it can be educational reading both sides of a argument providing the points are based in a sensible & constructive manner & plenty of posters on here have that ability to debate in that manner despite in disagreement.

In all fairness regarding the actual subject thread title there isn’t that much to really discuss nothing much is happening currently, we’ve signed Collins & dunne as gone to loftus road, a few other odd bits & bats & that’s your lot, a name will get linked & of course people will have different opinions whether it’s the right fit such as Ashley young, you are never going to get everybody agreeing on everything, that day will never happen.

Know what you mean. It is difficult to see what transfers have been rumoured when all together, especially if not reading it all day.

Never really rated Hennessey, but I guess he's an upgrade on the other backup keepers we have

300 plus appearances in the top 2 divisions 90 plus caps for Wales, he will be fine as a back up keeper.

I think I agree, I jump on to the message board for the transfer gossip sporadically thought out the week and I feel out of touch with who we are linked with.

It was much better reading a thread about a particular player rather than having to scroll though all the pages (from the latest, backwards) through all the fighting.

Don’t make me use Twitter for my latest Burnley News. I don’t want to be one of those people.

I'd prefer to be educated by someone who knows how to spell the word "has". When a poster consistently spells such a basic word incorrectly it does lead me to think he's not all that considered in his views.

If you think the substance carries the same impact based upon grammar & punctuation ect, it’s an extremely shallow cognitive viewpoint, I try to look past that, that way I understand the post & what the poster is actually trying to convey within the post.

If BPF is considered to be a championship goalie as butland was for Stoke who replaced Hennessy, I don’t think the gulf between the 2 is huge, the thing with Hennessy you could argue in favour is the experience with wales & wolves & palace which BPF doesn’t have yet, so in that sense it’s a slight upgrade I guess.

He needs that season as a number 1,even if it means dropping to League 1 with Weds

Can’t compare it to Butland. He threw his rattle out of the pram at Stoke. Still a good keeper there in the correct club for him.

I’m comparing Hennessy with BPF in terms of roughly evenish not butland, I was using butland as an example of being a championship goalkeeper displacing Hennessy, I think BPF is roughly championship some might say lower or top league 1, he isn’t far off Hennessy anyway that’s the point I was making, I can see the sense in loaning BPF out to eventually return & displace Hennessy as BPF needs regular game time.

Apparently Lyon have lined up his replacement and have bid 5m Euros.

Not sure whether that means he could coming this way though

Think it's pretty fair to say all depends on tarkowski and mcneil, think we'll all agree we need to keep hold of mcneil, but hopefully if we can get 25+ for tarkowski I would hope we could strengthen considerably with the proceeds plus what's left of the dry powder

He'll be playing at the Turf next season...... In the 2nd home game against us for Leeds. He looks a typical Beezlebub type player to me.

Why we've still got the basis of a decent PL squad, yes there's a couple of areas we'd ideally want to strengthen, RW in particular could do with an upgrade, but that apart assuming we keep hold of our prized gems Dwight, Pope & Tarks we still have plenty of nous in this squad and importantly manager to ensure we aren't dragged into the relegation mix, it might not always be pretty at times, but we dig the results out when needed, and there's no reason to expect next season to be any different, have some faith in SD and the players who've achieved wonders in the past 5 seasons.

I agree with what you’re saying but those players in the last few seasons have been relatively unchanged and need some new bodies around them now to push them and/or give them a break. Re-enforcements are needed
