Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Can someone ask the oracle - namely Mr Nixon what's his take on it?
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Where is the source for that info?

And if he says no? how long do we give him, our windows invariably have been garbage this one is crucial we cannot let the tail wag the dog.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 6:15 pmSeen as he probably potentially represents our best chance towards retaining our league status we can’t afford to be bolshy, diplomacy is key.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
So if you were Cornet would you rather live and play in Lyon or move to Burnley for an extra £x per week ?

Lot of stuff from nixon on twitter. Bit concerned fee and structure are widely reported now. Almost as if agent would like to put that out there for other suitors....

Burnley every time
Lyon want rid, don't they/
I think this is a hell of a gamble on the club's part, could go very wrong as he doesn't appear (from what info we have) to be anything like a Dyche player.

Andy Carroll tipped to join Burnley........good god no

So we let him tickle our tummies do we then, if he is really unsure he’s not the player for us.

When SD managed to get Joey Barton to join, had it gone on as long as this, people would be saying hes not a Dyche player. He turned out to be a fabulous acquisition. It gets me when people say Cornet cannot be a Dyche player. No one on here has met him.

If Cornet is not sure about moving to Burnley then he’s not right for us, we really don’t want him to come and then in due course decide he’s not happy and wants to leave. He could of course just be delaying in order to get a better offer, I just hope he’s not using us for that reason with no intention of ever coming to us.There’s a lot to be said for giving him an ultimatum, 48 hours or we move on.

Nixon is saying that that if he can do better than what we've offered, then he's a lucky boy
Basically saying that we've done all we can do, and its up to him
If he says no btw, can we please not start with the blame game, as it looks like we've done all we could possibly do sort of kidnapping him

Nixon raised valid point about pay off there. Not only will he get a nice boost on his contract, he’ll get his current contract paid off by Lyon... plenty of extra cash to join us. I’ve heard he would fit in quite well as a “dyche player” as he is apparently a “warrior...”

Do you not think that all players, and managers which includes Dyche, will negotiate over their contracts? This isn’t about having tummies tickled, it’s the way the world works. If you want us to sign better players than what we have then you need to understand that they’re not going to jump at their first offer.snapcrackleandpop wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 6:56 pmYou’re not a stupid man I would think it is obvious what I mean. But it is dragging on which could be very detrimental to our window, I hope he signs but only if he really wants to be here.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 6:58 pmDo you not think that all players, and managers which includes Dyche, will negotiate over their contracts? 100% this. Sounds like we can't do any more. Record bid, big wages, five year deal (apparently). Can't blame the club for this if he doesn't come.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 6:53 pmIf he says no btw, can we please not start with the blame game, as it looks like we've done all we could possibly do sort of kidnapping him

If he is our first choice target then I presume the people who run the football club and have experience in such matters are willing to give it time to get over the line. Setting an arbitrary 24 or 48 hour deadline is just dumb.snapcrackleandpop wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 7:00 pmBut it is dragging on which could be very detrimental to our window, I hope he signs but only if he really wants to be here.
Just because he hasn’t signed yet doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to be here. As far as I’m aware Lyon haven’t even accepted our offer yet!
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
We are one of the regular favourites for relegation as per the last two seasons - yes I know we once played in Europe, but, like most realistic people, I don't live in the past
We can offer so much, but it has to be in the back of his mind that relegation would mean a substantial drop in wages whatever they are
We either let his wages stay as they are if relegated or we write a relegation release clause into his contract with a minimum fee to be attained
If this guy is stringing us along then it's time to move on and I wouldn't complain
I don't want someone playing for us who is not 100% committed to the cause

Bizarre
We need better players to improve, and it might be a struggle attracting them, so we have to really try hard to sell the club to the player
it sounds like some of you have completely unrealistic expectations of what that involves tbf

As has been discussed players can live in the very expensive parts of the North West on their wages, not Stoops estate.

So how long do we give him let’s say 10.30pm on the 31st August, we surely must have a deadline.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 7:03 pmIf he is our first choice target then I presume the people who run the football club and have experience in such matters are willing to give it time to get over the line. Won’t happen. We want another winger - dyche has said that. Dyche would walk away instantly if we signed 1 winger, and then sold 1, leaving us with 2 again...

If Cornet ( pronounced Cornay ) signs , to potentially link up with Collins, would a Hairspray reference be too obscure ?

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
If people are happy for Ashley Barnes to play for us why are some against Andy Carroll?
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Carroll is way past it with injuries and fitness plus if we are going to sign a striker it needs to be the exact opposite ‘type’ to him.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
If Carroll signs, then Vydra will probably be leaving. We'll have the most 1 dimensional strike force in the whole of English football.
