From sky transfer centre.
Head coach Mikel Arteta refused to be drawn on precise details of Arsenal’s business before next week’s transfer deadline.
“I don’t know what will happen,” Arteta told Sky Sports, after the Gunners’ 6-0 victory at West Brom in the Carabao Cup. “There are still a few days to go, we have some exits planned. So we will see.”
Asked whether he was referring to Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac, Arteta added: “It’s all speculation. While they are here, we treat them as well as we can. They have incredible attitudes, and we reward them with minutes because they deserved that.”

We’ve all been having a laugh at the Flightradar stuff today but I found the private jet landing in Manchester at 8pm from the Lyon International Airport strangely exciting. Not sure why, just instinct . The other two private jets today (one from Manchester and one into London, were both to/from the smaller Lyon airport).
I thought the Defour signing was the biggest of our Premier League stay, but if we get this one over the line it would trump it.

I appreciate SD prefers permanent signings over loans but it's a great tool to use especially in the case of a player like Maitland Niles. As a two way process, it gives our coaching staff the chance to assess the player. Plus in the case of people questioning why would he want to move from London up north, it allows the player to get a feel for the club and the area. Surely then it's much easier to sign the player permanently.
Apologies that there's no ice-cream puns.

If we can't get AMN, which I sincerely hope we do, I would not be unhappy with picking up Jack Wilshire - provided the contract was based heavily on appearances. Free agent. Worth a punt I would have thought, given our need for a little more creativity in midfield.

only issue with getting him on a pay as you play type deal is Dyche actually picking him even if he is fit, I don't see it working for that reasonLord_Bob wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 1:15 amIf we can't get AMN, which I sincerely hope we do, I would not be unhappy with picking up Jack Wilshire - provided the contract was based heavily on appearances. It’s a shame seeing a player of Wilshere’s ability in this predicament. He needs to ship off to the States to retire as I don’t think he’s up to it in this country anymore.

I’ve not seen this anywhere on this board. Apparently interested in Jean-Luc Dompé who is a french winger playing in Belgium. Boro have had a 2 million bid rejected. Sounds like plan B in case Cornet doesn’t sign

Wilshire?
The same man who was released by Bournemouth after not doing much there in the championship?
No thanks.

I read the Wilshire piece in the Graun, his PR team are very good. I expect clubs want him but not at the wages he's most likely asking.
E.g. what he wants is a nice 3 year deal 30k+ a week. Clubs are probably saying lower and based on appearances.

Iam not an expert in French reporters, but one of the main outlets is reporting signing being close. Don't ask for links, cos I Carnt do them off twitter, but a simple search will find it

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
For several weeks, Maxwel Cornet (24) has been the subject of much envy. It is finally Burnley who has accelerated in recent days on the left side of Gones, also desired by Hertha Berlin. As we revealed to you exclusively on Foot Mercato, the English club recently made a € 16 million proposal to OL for the Ivorian international. An amount accepted by the Lyon management.
In parallel, the seventeenth in the Premier League began a seduction operation to convince Cornet to join them. Steps that are on the verge of being successful since, according to several corroborating sources, the signing of the 24-year-old is considered to be on the right track. Even more, it could intervene in the coming hours. The end of the transfer window promises to be eventful in any case on the side of the capital of Gaul

Things that need to happen before he’s in the starting 11 and approx time:Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 11:15 amGet him signed today and get him in the starting eleven on Sunday
1. Settle into the group and get to know the lads (1 week)
2. Get Dyche fit (between 2-3 weeks including couple of behind closed door games)
3. Understand the pace of the Premier League with few bench appearances (2 weeks)
4. One of the loyalty players have a run of 3/4 poor games and results. (3/4 weeks)
Total: Around 2 months

You could be right, however I think points on the board might push Dyche into playing him almost immediately.RVclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 11:41 amThings that need to happen before he’s in the starting 11 and approx time:

Fancy a wager that he starts a league game in less than 2 months if he signs ?
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
A lack of central midfield links. We must strengthen here in my opinion. Ideally we could do with replacing one of Jay Rod/ Barnes too but don’t think this is likely this window.
