For me I'd happily see the window close right now; it'd mean that we miss the opportunity to perhaps sign a bench warmer/future prospect or two, but would also ensure that we don't hear of JT, Dwight or the Pope are going elsewhere before January.

Don’t know much about roberts but it sounds very positive and a good price and a good age. It also gives us time to focus on maybe one more deal perhaps?
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I wonder if SD is looking to play Roberts on the right side of midfield rather than as a full back. He did play there for Swansea towards the ned of last season.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Not a pop at you personally, but it seems that every time we sign someone people invent a new formation or a way to shoehorn that player into a new starting eleven. The fact is that Bardsley is out of contract at the end of the season and Lowton is no spring chicken. It’s also a position we can significantly improve on, despite Lowton being in good form for the past 12 months.
This seems like a signing with an eye on next season, if he can play in a more advanced role then this will give us extra options, but with McNeil, JBG, Lennon and Cornet I think it’s highly doubtful that Roberts has been signed to play in right midfield.

I have a feeling a big big signing will be incoming today
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Some good signings, and will give those with the shirts something to think about...which can only be good.

If its true that we are after Booth we will have to be quick. Isn't German deadline 5 pm?

Thats it I think
Course, an attacking player would be great but I suspect that Christie was it and there isn't enough time to do anything else

Really pleased with the Roberts signing. Usually plays well for Wales. PL shouldn’t faze him.

Do you mean the right of central midfield, or out on the wing? He certainly won't be playing on the right wing. as that's what Cornet has been brought in for.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Meanwhile, down at Ewood Park, excitement mounts at the possibility of Reda Khadra signing a loan deal for this season.
Khadra, described as a phenomenally exciting Premier League prospect (by sources in Brighton) has already made 6 appearances for Brighton u23 team and scored a number of goals for Hamburg u19. This was followed by a 2 minute cameo from the Brighton bench last season.
Contributors to Blackburns main football message board remain disparaging about Burnleys paltry incomings over the window...apparently a ragbag of thugs and desperados who failed to attract interest at proper clubs.

I've no evidence either way but I'd be amazed If we signed anyone else today.
Pace & crew have shown they're willing to spend if they player and price is right, probably key to keeping Dyche on board.
Doubt they'll push the boat out further than they need to.
Prove me wrong please

Can't see any of our big names leaving having got to 2pm without even a recent rumour. Yes, less well known players might leave but I think the ones you mention are all staying, unless someone offers really silly money for Dwight at this late stage.AfloatinClaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 1:34 pmFor me I'd happily see the window close right now; it'd mean that we miss the opportunity to perhaps sign a bench warmer/future prospect or two, but would also ensure that we don't hear of JT, Dwight or the Pope are going elsewhere before January.

Personally think the last signing will be that of Dyche. Can see Pace making a big show of it as the final signing of a successful transfer window and the last signature being that of the most important person at the club

tbf our friends down the road have made a couple of cracking signings from Premier League academies in recent times (loan or purchase) Armstrong and Elliotfatboy47 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 1:59 pmMeanwhile, down at Ewood Park, excitement mounts at the possibility of Reda Khadra signing a loan deal for this season.

Alan Pace has definitely made a statement of intent during this window, and I suspect that we could just sneak another one in before 11pm.
Arsenal's AMN has made it very clear he wants to leave and he is just what we need in central midfield to replace an ageing (But still useful.) Jack Cork.

Dan James, 50 Premier League appearances, 6 goals, 7 assists, moves to Leeds for £25,000,000
Dwight McNeil, 99 Premier League appearances, 7 goals, 16 assists, potential valuation? Surely north of £40,000,000 in the current market?
