Yes that made my chuckle also, clearly the Geordies aren't a happy bunch right now.HunterST_BFC wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 9:21 pmpinched from bbc but made me laugh...
Great news I've heard Newcastle United are signing Neymar! That's Neymar defenders, Neymar midfielders and Neymar strikers. (Stolen from a very good friend of mine)
John from Blyth
And yet again Mike Ashley is getting pelters from the Newcastle faithful; I did think they'd be alright this season, but now I'm not so sure, and a serious injury to either ASM of Callum Wilson and they really could struggle, as they did last term when both were missing for lengthy spells of the campaign.

I'm sure at some point during the season after losing a few the usual suspects will back them for relegation again.tiger76 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 9:37 pmYes that made my chuckle also, clearly the Geordies aren't a happy bunch right now.

LOLOLOL lets celebrate we finished 4th bottom last season and we have started this season 1/9 points and we have bought players from Stoke (a understudy), Swansea (a player nobody has wanted the entire transfer window), a 34 year old goalkeeper as a back up and Cornet who could be anything but for one reason or another wont see out his contract at this club.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 10:01 pmSo is this still a miserable transfer window?

For people to be popping corks over a great window just shows how far we have gone down. If we had a match saturday none of the 4 "great" signing would be playing, great improvement.

We don’t have a game because of the international break…
It’s just as well as Burnley Football Club is dripping in international players.
Things have rarely been as bad for Burnley fans…

Or...we've bought five much needed players into our squad. Three current international players and two former internationals with circa 120 caps between them.s6t9a2f3f wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 10:11 pmLOLOLOL lets celebrate we finished 4th bottom last season and we have started this season 1/9 points and we have bought players from Stoke (a understudy), Swansea (a player nobody has wanted the entire transfer window), a 34 year old goalkeeper as a back up and Cornet who could be anything but for one reason or another wont see out his contract at this club.

Hennesey - excellent back up for Pope
Lennon - 4th choice wide man adds depth and an extra option off the bench
Collins - the future of burnleys central defence
Roberts - buckets of assists and will be pushing for starting at RB, God forbid I remember someone called tripper who we all know and love, he could be our next trips
Cornet - someone I don't know a lot about but from what I've seen and heard someone who could have easily gone to a top team and performed. And will undoubtedly become starting 11 player soon!
Not to mention keeping all out current assets, Pope, tarks, mcneil, wood etc..
Great Transfer window, well done burnley fc and Alan..

Cornet and quite possibly Roberts will hopefully be pushing for 1st team selection soon, Collins is eventually going to replace Tarks, or don't you believe in succession planning, and our other 2 signings are perfectly adequate experienced back-up options if required.
We were never going to right all the wrongs of several failed windows in one summer, but this new lot have at least identified a couple of key areas and acted to strengthen them, notably RB, RW & CB, plus also adding a mightily experienced keeper to be our number 2.
I wouldn't class it as a great window, but it's been a pretty good window all things considered.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Collins is a replacement for Tarks when he goes. You seem to forget how weak we were for central defenders last season and we are definitely stronger now. Roberts is an upgrade on Bardsley even though Bardsley was a good player for us. Hennessy is a first class goalkeeper enabling BPF to gain better experience elsewhere. We only had 2 wing players are releasing Brady now we have 4. Cornet could turn out to be a revelation and if he does our strikers may score more goals this year. The only disappointment is not bringing in another CM but we were unlucky on Christie, We have brought in 5 players in one window and the whole squad is stronger than before. We also kept all our best players. The club is moving forward again after a number of poor windows. We couldn't possibly have answered every issue we had with our squad but we have made an encouraging start and I for one believe future windows will also be positive. Lets give praise to the new owners on this, they have backed SD and give us all a positive hope that more progress will be forthcoming.s6t9a2f3f wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 10:11 pmLOLOLOL lets celebrate we finished 4th bottom last season and we have started this season 1/9 points and we have bought players from Stoke (a understudy), Swansea (a player nobody has wanted the entire transfer window), a 34 year old goalkeeper as a back up and Cornet who could be anything but for one reason or another wont see out his contract at this club.

hmmm for 12m and hardly anybody else wanted him throughout the entire window ?? we gave EVERY tom, dick and harry the chance to gazump us including your quote "any top team" but just because he is foreign does not mean people dont know his market value - so on todays actions and value cornet is half the player James is - lets see.

I'd like to think we have seen that Alan Pace is willing to back the manager, he has really tried to bring in some top quality.
I would also like to think that he has learnt a lot about how transfers work and that he and his team will analyse the last few days and perform even better next time around.
I feel very optimistic about the future of BFC after recent events.
Well done to everyone involved at the club.
