Stats
Just 40 odd percent succesful passes. The lowest amount of any side, winning or losing in some time. Yet we never looked in danger.
Very professional performance and surprisingly enjoyable to watch.
Well done lads. Top effort.

Re: Stats
2009 they said was the last time a team had such passing stats.
We just played long ball, but that's all it took. Fulham are weak as a pint of Carling.

Re: Stats
Well done Fulham for repeatedly passing it along the back line, then back to the keeper and then repeating to build up your possession total before kicking it out for a throw in.
Hope this gives you something to cling on to while you reflect on another relegation.

Re: Stats
47.8 - Burnley completed just 121 of their 253 passes vs Fulham last night (47.8%), the lowest pass accuracy by a team in a Premier League game since December 2009 (Sunderland vs Blackburn, 47.5%) and the lowest of any side to win a game in the competition since 2003-04. Wayward.

We didn't need to be very good to beat an awful Fulham side.

Re: Stats
Fulham, 393 passes to our 121. Got them along way. Not.

Re: Stats
Maybe modern coaching methods are just plain wrong
Re: Stats
All that means is that Fulham played three or four successful passes within twenty yards of their own goal, before playing it long under pressure. We cut out the three or four "successful" passes, we played it long when not under pressure with a greater degree of success.

Re: Stats
There's only one stat that counts, and we scored 2 to their 0, you can have all the possession in the world, but if you can't put the ball in the onion bag it'll count for nowt, and Fulham simply can't put the ball in the net, 25 goals in 35 games, and a meagre 9 (NINE) home goals, that's why they're going down.

Re: Stats
I saw that game as being far better than some games in 2021 where we gave the ball away repeatedly.
It seemed to me that we highlighted the Fulham defence as being crackable under pressure and we bombarded them throughout, particularly first half, which led to the stat about pass accuracy. Second half we sat in and simply launched it clear, knowing Fulham struggle to score. Again, it leads to that stat but it was kind of deliberate.
I’m sure both tactics we could have done a tad better, but I’m not particularly fussed about where this match sits on the all time PL pass completion table.

The one "long" pass from Lowton to Vydra leading to the goal would be on repeat and have the pundits lavishing praise on whomever it was from a top 4 side.
