Charlie Taylor
Became the 12th player to reach 100 Premier League games for us today - overall I think he's become an outstanding player for us.
Here's the 12

133: Ashley Westwood

125: Chris Wood
122: Jeff Hendrick
116: Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson
105: Nick Pope
102: Sam Vokes
100: Charlie Taylor

Re: Charlie Taylor
Best on the pitch for us to day. Though, admittedly, not setting the bar very high.

Re: Charlie Taylor
Well done Charlie on your 100th, shame it didn't end in a victory, but he was one of the few who can hold his head high with his performance today.
Here's to another 100 or more in a Burnley shirt.

Re: Charlie Taylor
Easily the best player on the pitch today, I thought.
His crossing can let him down occasionally and we know his right foot is for nothing more than standing on, but he’s an asset.

Re: Charlie Taylor
His 100 seems to have come up very quickly but then I realised he’s been first choice for three seasons now.
Proved to be a terrific signing for us.

Re: Charlie Taylor
Good player for us, but needs to work on his crossing.
Gets in great positions regularly but very rarely produces the cross

Re: Charlie Taylor
When we signed Charlie and Chris Wood from Leeds, I really thought this was a turning point for Burnley in the PL: quality players coming in with good pedigrees. It's a shame we haven't been able to build on this with our squad strengthening.
Re: Charlie Taylor
I think he's matured into a brilliant player, although I'd still have the 2017/18 Stephen Ward over Charlie Taylor now.

Re: Charlie Taylor
10 out of 12 still with us and apart from Vyds nudging ahead of Barnes they are pretty much first choice with McNeil as the 11th man.
If you sometimes wonder how Dyche manages to keep us up year on year with the budget he has then look no further than the experience and longevity of this group of players.
Of course its strength also forebodes the challenge ahead as these players wont go on forever and trying to slowly replace them with our financial constraints and the character attributes Dyche will demand might be as bigger challenge as getting us to this position in the first place.
As for Taylor, what a great player and I feel he falls in the the Mee mold where for us he is as good a player as we would need and want in that position but at the same time I dont feel he will have bigger clubs chasing him in the way we might see with Pope, Tarks and Dwight.

Re: Charlie Taylor
A far cry from the days when we could identify a target and actually sign him.Turned out to be a great signing. In those days we had less of a proposition to offer new players-whats gone wrong ??

Re: Charlie Taylor
Hope he can have an injury free season next year.
Re: Charlie Taylor
Well done Charlie.
It’s bonkers to think that Gudmundsson has played more Premier League games for us than Nick Pope.

Re: Charlie Taylor
Looking at that list of 12, I’m amazed that Tom Heaton isn’t on it! If I’d been asked to name the 12, he’d probably have been one of my first answers.

Re: Charlie Taylor
It's Premier League games and, unfortunately, Tom Heaton's opportunities were cut back by injury. Tom played every minute of the 2014/15 Premier League season, 38 games, and 35 games of the 2016/17 Premier League season. Nick Pope then replaced Tom 10th Sept 2017 during the Crystal Palace game. Tom only appeared in 4 games that season. In 2018/19 Tom replaced Joe Hart in goal half way through the season, thus 19 Premier League games. Total Premier League appearances, 38 + 35 + 4 + 19 = 96 games. So, Tom almost got there, but not quite.Cheshireclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 16, 2021 4:43 pmLooking at that list of 12, I’m amazed that Tom Heaton isn’t on it! Note: my memory aided by wikipedia.
Great player, nevertheless. A club legend and a true gentleman.
