Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
Dyche really can't have been happy with BPF on Saturday, to drop him after 1 game seems harsh.
Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
Who's playing behind wood then
Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
OK, who's playing Further forward of the 3 in midfield to play off wood then

Is that going to be Brownhill supporting Wood?

How's it going with the fans getting into the ground? Are the seats filling up (subject to the socially distanced limits)?

Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
I’m not sure we will have a player who is strictly playing further forward than the rest. I suspect all three midfielders, and our wingers, will be tasked with getting up to support Wood as and when it’s possible.

BBC has McNeill behind Wood. Midfield: Brownhill, Westwood, Cork, JBG.
So, 4-4-1-1

Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
Not a bad call to bench Vydra for this one. He's been playing well, but it's about who we're playing and the threat we're facing imo, so I've no issue with it at times like this. I suspect Dyche didn't really want to bash BPF's confidence by leaving him out, but at the same time it's a chance to blood another player in a dead rubber, so again playing Norris is fair enough. I just hope Richardson gets a chance ahead of Barnes and Jay up front at some point, because it would be good to see him get a run out.

They are insisting on one seat between everyone, even family groups! Premier League rules apparently. Didn’t help someone being allocated a seat next to the one I was, bit shambolic really.

Wearing a mask outside is just a farce.
Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
Has he let in at least 4 in every game he's started for us this season? Just wondering, it seems like he let's in a bunch more every time. I'd be willing to try Norris then.
Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
Vydra very unlucky to miss out.

Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
Trying different systems out and with Wood being our main scorer why would SD drop him for Vydra, he should still get his chance, doing nothing wrong at moment for me, just a formation change, Scousers going to be looking for that 4th spot tonight, I bet all of Leicester will be cheering us on tonight, even a draw suits them.

Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
Exactly. It’s not harsh on Vydra, it’s a squad game and as our second striker he is naturally the first to make way for another midfielder.CnBtruntru wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 7:49 pmTrying different systems out and with Wood being our main scorer why would SD drop him for Vydra, he should still get his chance, doing nothing wrong at moment for me, just a formation change, Scousers going to be looking for that 4th spot tonight, I bet all of Leicester will be cheering us on tonight, even a draw suits them.
Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
Wood is the best player to hold the ball up when required.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 7:45 pmHe is in one sense, but if Dyche is going to be flexible and pick teams according to what we're up against, it also makes sense. If you're playing only one up and bolstering midfield, it probably has to be Wood.

I've sent the Mrs into another room and made her wear a face mask, just so I can imagine I'm there! (Actually I do that every night, even before Covid was a baby bat!)

Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
Good to see Norris get a run out, you never know if or when he'll be required in a meaningful game.
On balance it makes sense to play Wood up front on his own and pack the midfield.
Hope the fans that are there enjoy their evening regardless of the result.

When we played 5 in MF at OT Brownhill was the most forward of them and he had a very good game.

Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
BPF not playing doesn't necessarily mean he's been dropped. Maybe he's injured too or maybe Sean just wants to give Norris a game because of how well he performed last time he played?
Always going to be a difficult game, this one. If we get a point, it will be a success.
That said, I'd rather have Liverpool in the Euro League next season than some of the others like Chelsea.

Afternoon all from a bright and sunny Coconut Coast.
I reckon Burnley are just treading water and don’t expect us to do the double, hope I’m wrong.

Re: mighty Clarets v Liverpool
Greetings from SW Ontario. Currently it's 29 degrees, mix of sun and cloud, no humidity to speak of. It's an interesting line up Dyche has chosen, not sure why Norris is in goal, has BPF lost confidence, or has Dyche lost confidence in BPF? From my point of view I'll be interested to see what difference a partial crowd makes to our performance.
Come on you Clarets, lets go out with a win

After Alisson's heroics at West Brom, it wouldn't surprise me if he has a blooper tonight.
Fate has a way of doing things like that. Fingers crossed.
