I wore my lucky 1994 Endsleigh shirt with the 100% record at Wembley. It did the job. I just read a post of mine on Facebook from 12 years ago. It simply said "Dancing, with tears in my eyes" And i wasn't the only one.

In the corporate area below the "royal box" with Owen Coyle stood next to us on his way down to the pitch after the lads collected the trophy, he was godlike at that moment, The rest is history so won't dwell on it.
A great day indeed and on my daughter's birthday to boot!

Re: Where were you 12 years ago today and did you wear the mask?
I was on a weekend away in the Bath with 15 mates and left them there to head to Wembley.
It was weird not seeing any claret scarves out of car windows until about the last 20 minutes of my journey to Wembley.

*Snap ... There were also 5 more of my shirts worn that day, as the rest of our group were wearing my various Clarets shirts from 94 to 08...Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 3:24 pmI wore my lucky *1994 Endsleigh shirt with the 100% record at Wembley It did the job. We had parked at Watford Junction and gone down to Wembley via the Tube ... Great day out

There with my bro. Drove home to Lincolnshire with what seemed to be many a Sheff Utd carload. Re-watched the match on tv just to make sure it actually happened.

Drove down and parked at High Wycombe, then took the train in to Wembley Park. It took us over an hour to walk round to our entrance, stopping & meeting with old school and work friends. We were lucky enough to get two Club Wembley tickets from my Employer, which was great, but we had to share the spot with a bloke from Sheffield and his wife. It was just to the right of the Royal Box, and Dave Thomas was just behind us in a hospitality box.
Mrs Clarets4me swears I went from deathly white to crimson and back again in the last 10 minutes .... the final whistle saw me shed tears for only the 2nd time ever in a football ground ( Stan's last game being the other ) ! Our son was on the other side with his oldest friend, when we met up after the game, Mrs C4me asked him what he'd done at the final whistle, " Mum, JD and I had an unmanly moment ! "
Fabulous day !!

Can't believe it was 12 years, it has flown. I wonder if OC looks back on the day and realises it was his best ever achievement in football, he had a town that loved him......and he blew it.

I was at work in Waterloo, Ontario following the text commentary on Sky website. I could barely concentrate on my work duties due to the excitement.
Oh, no mask

Re: Where were you 12 years ago today and did you wear the mask?
The only time a football match has made me feel physically sick! The knots in my stomach during injury time were something else. Then some balding bloke from the Wirral blows a whistle and like some miracle cure the nausea was gone to be replaced by the most amazing euphoric high.

Drove down with my son, fantastic day, never to be forgotten. Utc
Re: Where were you 12 years ago today and did you wear the mask?
Blimey 12 years! Was there with wife, son and daughter. Our son was living in Australia at the time and travelled back from Melbourne for the game. A great day that I was unable to fully enjoy as I was almost sick with nerves. The lad was more than a little miffed when he was catching his plane back to Oz and encountered a Claret who had travelled from New Zealand! Prior to that 08/09 season I never thought I would see us in the top division again in my lifetime. How wrong could I be?

Delayed my holiday to Turkey for a day and traveled down with my suitcase on one of Accy Clarets 21 coaches that we ran. After the game got my suitcase off the coach and jumped into the taxi which I'd pre-booked to get to Gatwick for the last flight to Turkey. Arrived at the hotel about 4am and hung my BFC beach towel on the balcony to greet 1 of my Rovers supporting friends (who'd traveled the previous day) when he got up and opened the curtains! He'd watched the game in a bar along with a dad and his lad, who were from Burnley. The temperature was in the high 30's and my friend was in shorts and T-shirt but the dad had on a full length leather coat, which he taken all the way to Turkey as it was his lucky coat!

Re: Where were you 12 years ago today and did you wear the mask?
We decided that sleeping wouldn't be an option so rounded up our crew and left Burnley for London in my Mum's borrowed car at around 3.30am. Listened to that rehashed We Are Burnley FC song a few times and had a right laugh on the way down, eventually parking at High Wycombe where we were greeted by the sight of somebody trying very desperately to break into a bank. Not having time for that we went in search of a fry up. A few scoops whilst soaking up the swell of excitement as we got closer to Wembley, starting chants among fellow Clarets, banter with the Sheffield United fans in the sunshine, we even lifted the FA Cup on Wembley Way. Met my, Mum, Dad and a few family friends at our seats which my Grandma had very kindly bought for us all then had a couple of very anxious hours. The celebrations and photos were centred right in front of us which was really nice too. I can just remember this overwhelming joy and all the fanfare going on around us and it didn't feel entirely real - it just felt, well...MASSIVE. I'd also had a sizable bet on promotion and of course we had all gained free season tickets. I know his leaving was a bad move but I could never bring myself to really hate Owen Coyle and nor did I want to. Many of our nearest and dearest would credit him for helping to create some of their finest memories and I'm thankful we have them to share. Getting home from London was significantly less fun as we had to stop several times to keep our driver awake (almost every service station was a stop for fresh air and top ups of his coffee). Turned out to be one of the best days ever and I hope I never forget it.

To this day i never give Mike Dean any stick. Could and should have given Sheffield United a penalty and then he sent that player off.

12 years good grief.
What a ride we’ve had since then.
Wore my “lucky” Clarets t shirt, not worn it since. Must dig it out, wear it next season and you never know what might happen

Booked a mini bus down with my mates and our kids had a great time, I knew we would win that day and wasn’t nervous at all in the final minutes. Great times and even better times since. UTC
Re: Where were you 12 years ago today and did you wear the mask?
Watched the game in The Cricketers Arms in Orlando with Whaley Claret and others plus a quite a few Sheff U fans. No trouble at all. Just some ecstatic Clarets and some blunt Blades who to be fair said we deserved the win. Not sure I would have been so gracious in reverse
