It was a two footed challenge from behind, high and nowhere near the ball how are people debating that it’s not a red
He slipped...looked awful in real time but in slo-mo he didn't touch him.
Accidental NOT a red.

Yes well done to the Bees they finally made the big time after several seasons of near misses, now of course the hard work starts for them, will they trust the squad which got them promoted or will they bring in lots of new faces, they'll no doubt be among the favourites for the drop, but I have a funny feeling they might be a surprise package next season.

They've gone places since Chalky White was in charge

Chuffed for the Bees, and another London game for those of us that live here. And a new ground to tick off. Result.

I don’t think it was an intended two footed challenge. It was actually quite bizarre!
He caught the defenders heel which he seemed to almost ride on the back of. This threw him off balance and resulted in him taking the player out.
Yes it did become two footed but as I said, it was quite bizarre and I think completely unintentional.
Yellow card for me.

He was unlucky but definitely a red, such clumsiness can result in serious injury

Having watched the first 20 mins of the Champions League final and the pace of the game I then realise we play in the same league as these two clubs.

yep really fast, got to say that if Chelsea add a top striker then they could push for the title next season, incredibly well organized

Looking a good side now under Tuchel. They do just need a striker to add to that. It’s not looking like Werner.

City will still be the team to beat, but Tuchel has shown in his brief tenure that Chelsea can challenge, and if they could convert their form of the last 20 games or so into a whole season then yes they'll be a threat for sure, I thought Werner was supposed to be that top striker, but it's not happened for him yet at Chelsea, still that's not to say he should be written off sometimes it takes players time to adjust to the PL, and he could fall into this camp, Chelsea fans will certainly be hoping so anyway.

Chelsea deserve that goal, they have been the better team. I think Pep has got his team selection wrong for this game. Stones still looks dodgy to me.

If Timo Werner improves next season they have every chance of getting very close to winning the league.
All they need is a world class striker.

Pep needs to get Fernandinho on ASAP imo.

Brilliant first half.
I wouldn't trust Werner to finish his tea... But his movement is good.
Good to see the English lads putting in good performances on the whole.
2nd half will be interesting, suspect Aguero will make an appearance

Both look like they are missing a great striker to me.
Kane in either of these teams would be frightening.

Arrogance or naivety?
Either way. Those tactics were awful.
No striker.
Best attacking midfielder in a holding role.
No natural holding players to sit and pick off and stop Chelsea and allow their own attacking players to bomb on.
1 shot on goal. Dreadful.
Fair play Chelsea. Fancied them to lift the trophy albeit not in 90 minutes. They were far far better.

He is responsible for the ‘identikit’ teams we see who obsess over passing from the back and as a result the **** poor defending.

Got it completely wrong tonight.
Also left Aguero on the bench far to long, Jesus is not the man you need when its crunch time

Absolutely bizarre starting line up.
Having said that if Harry Kane were in city's starting line up tonight I believe the outcome would still be the same.
Chelsea did a proper job on them.
Oh and the referee were superb.

Pep has to carry the can for that showing tonight, why he thought KDB would be effective as the central "striker" in a 3 beats me, everybody knows at any level of the game you have to win the midfield to win the game, and Chelsea completely bossed that area of the pitch which allowed them to dictate the play, and City were lucky it was only 1-0 TBH.

Referee was great. English referees take note of this and how he used VAR in particular
