Re: Today's Games
Makes you wonder why Croatia didn’t go a little more direct earlier. It’s causing Spain some problems.

That’s a big leap devil.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 6:55 pmSouthgate's stock gets better by the game. A win against Germany tomorrow and he probably goes down as the second best England manager of all time and second only to the great Alf Ramsey
We’ve still got to do the business and we don’t want the Czechs and Croatians through to the last 8 and us to miss out.
Where do Spain go from here in this match? What would be Southgate’s team talk now ?

I am absolutely loving Modric in this gameSilkyskills1 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 7:02 pmShe'll be on a different chapter now looking for clichés to do with extra time. No mention from her of Modric who, as usual, is running the game.

Re: Today's Games
I've been watching Modric, extra time is 15 mins too much for him so far.
Perhaps he's had a red bull and will be re-energised.

Re: Today's Games
Laporte looks top class in the prem but he's been awful in the latter stages of this game.

I might be wrong (I often am), but I'm sure I read earlier that the Swiss are unbeaten against France in the last 5 gamesConroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 7:13 pmLooking forward to Spain against France..... if they overcome Switzerland.

That’s what it’s all about.
Football that is.
Goals. Drama. Two comebacks. Great football. Great finishing. And all in front of a packed house and passionate support.
Brilliant to watch. And Copenhagen has been a great venue.
Had my doubts about multi country format. But it’s surprisingly added to it.

Can't remember Walter Winterbottom, but apparently he was very good too.

Great name but keep it quiet cos a few on here will have a heart attack when they find out he had no previous managerial experience (not even 3 years at Middlesbrough)boatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 7:44 pmActually not far off the truth.

Re: That’s what it’s all about.
Not too sure about yet multi country myself. Some teams have had to schlep backwards and forwards across Europe while England have had home advantage in every game. Hard to complain as we are benefitting from it massively but it doesn't feel like a level playing field.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 7:39 pm

Re: Today's Games
It's such a shame the English national anthem is so weak when it comes to stirring up the crowd in comparison to the French & Italian anthems.

Re: France Switzerland
He was talking about Utd being after Verane and then mentioned them but I wasn’t really paying attention
Re: France Switzerland
Yes. He said about somebody - I missed who maybe Mbappe - he hasn't been to Burnley on a windy night to play against Mee and Tarkowski. Rather a compliment.scouseclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 8:11 pmDid anyone catch what Clive Tyldesley
