Colnes bowling is woeful. Could be looking at a big score here.

Parry, the Lowerhouse professional, is certainly earning his wage.

We expected some good bowling but we now have a top batsman as well.

80+ runs and 6 wickets today.

House are on the charge.

Top bloke, top professional! Will prove to be the best signing of all pro’s IMO

Good performance today from Parry against a pro-less Colne but he has hardly set the league alight so far this season. He needs more performances like today but against better opposition before he can come anywhere near the standard Erasmus attained.

When Lowerhouse signed him it was obvious that they’d signed a very good cricketer but I recall arise-sir_charge posting on here what a good bloke he is and you need that from your pro.

Had a chat with him today, I’ll happily stick my neck on the line and say he will score a lot of runs this year.

You hope your pro will score runs and take wickets but being good in the dressing room is even more important. Every club will have had good pros in that respect but they will all be able to name some they wish they’d never hired.

Heard a rumour today that Samit Patel is on 700 quid a game when he is sub proing for Haslingden. Trade must be good at Bentgate

If a club wants to be successful as a club nothing is more important than scoring runs and taking wickets

Obviously but some Lancashire League professionals over the years have not had a good relationship in the dressing room and it’s had an effect on the pitch.

I know it's only 2nd team cricket but I watched Liam Simm score 191no and break Padihams amatuer record today. I'm sure you will be proud.

I think that's cheap for a sub pro to be honest.

I remember Jayasuriya demanding 12k for one game off Hassy. He was turned down.

Great performance from him yesterday and you can not expect more on a match-to-match basis. What you can expect from a paid man is more performances like yesterday on a regular basis. The pro has played well but been largely overshadowed, figures-wise, by good returns from the amateurs.

I compare pros against the other pros and at the moment there is only one pro that has better all round stats.

That said, stats don’t tell the whole story. You have to consider that maybe the pro and the way he plays the game is what allows those amateurs to perform how they do.

Must admit only seen him once and it was down Burnley where he bowled extremely well, gave nothing away but looked anything but a decent bat. Seems to have come on though looking at recent scores

£12,000 for one game :D :D
We would hopefully appoint a Pro for two seasons for that amount at Colne

They won the league & cup double in 1959. It was their fourth and most recent title win, the other three in the first decade of the 20th century. They’ve won the cup three more times since 1959.

I'm sure Colne would have snapped your hand off before the game if offered a 206 run defeat. Fair play to Colne.

Lovely ground, if a bit quirky. Great view in the background and only a couple minutes walk into the town centre if you like to visit the pubs or get fish and chips.

It was a Settle player who got the brunt of the West Ham support at Burnley, when he was out that went viral. You're f****** s***.

That's cricket all over.

Liam who scored the 191n.o this weekend, got a first ball duck the week before and Kerr who took part in the record partnership for Greenmount got 3 ducks in his first 3 games in the Lancs League and only 19 overall in his first 5 beforehand.

Cricket can be a hard game, not like that Golf where you can have as many chances as you want.

When I was a kid in Colne in the 1970s I used to enjoy watching Collis King regularly launch the ball out of the ground and into the houses across Keighley Road.
