Burnley v Colne Lancs league

Post by Local cricketer » Sat Jul 17, 2021 10:36 am

Scorching day today so looking forward to heading down to The Boohoo this aft. Can Colne finally win a game and will Lenny be bringing his Asda cans. Just hope Burnley win the toss and bat first so the game will go past 4pm

I’ve a feeling Burnley might win the league again this year if they can keep a full strength side

Pro for Colne came in at 11/1 and was out at 95/6. Of the 84 runs scored while he was at the wicket, he scored 75 of them.

Colne Pro got 90 out of 139 last week as well. Sounds like a good player, he's got 26 fc tons. 😳

Glad i decided to not go to Darwen to follow the House because from what little i can gather from the twitter updates it was a total non performance. Only Ben can come out of it with any credit. All out for 137 and knocked off easily with only 2 wickets lost.
Just hope their minds are on tomorrow because if they perform the same Walsden will run riot.

Good day at burnley today allowed to take my Asda cans on no questions asked which I like two games in from our new pro he looks more than decent his bowling is average at the moment but at least we are giving teams a game now you never know we might just sneak a win before season finishes back home to Witherspoons night cap then bed upthecolne

' House will need to put the heavy defeat at Darwen today behind them with a matter of urgency before the Worsley Cup Semi-Final at home against Walsden CC tomorrow.

Weather is set fair and a bumper gate is expected.

Colne's pro putting himself in shop window for next season. Not sure Colne want to resign him, last thing we want is to get promoted again!

I wouldn't say that. If we can win a load of matches every other season, I'll take that!

Belting day for the cricket today

Really tough one for Lowerhouse against Walsden in the semi final of the cup, plenty of sun cream required

Huge game. Lowerhouse seem to be stumbling a little and Walsden are consistently good but I’ve a sneaky feeling for the house today

To be fair Lenny...with the standard of your amateurs it must seem that every team you play against is playing with 11 pros ;)

Lowerhouse won toss..batting first.

Not confident after yesterdays debacle. Out of form generally. Will need to be bang on it today.

Yes I guess so, border must be near former pub, Bird int’ Hand as you drive towards Littleboro Summit. Walsden’s tiny ground is thus about a mile into Yorkshire.

It definitely is in Yorkshire. I was Walsden scorer in the late 60s for several years.

Thought you of all people would know that Cleggy :D . Driving past Summit from Littleborough the border is just after Denehead. Loved playing there. You could hear every word of the dogs abuse the crowd were giving you!

I’ve been away too long in Geordieland!
Can remember Walsden winning the Wood Cup at Hare Hill however, Trevor Chappell starred in front of a big, boozy crowd.

Remember it well. Trevor Chappell, told Middleton's Keith Courtney (a rather rotund chap) "you should be rolling on the f*****g pitch not playing on it"! He had a way with words.
