Another good chance for players to make an impression in great conditions. Hopefully Livingstone can carry on where he left off in the first game.

18/2 off 2.3 not the best of starts here. Ali and Buttler at the crease.

Much better from Moeen, shame he couldn't go on, but a useful knock from him.

That six out of the ground from Livingstone was absolutely huge. Lancashire carrying the nation again.

Jos gone, but 150 up for England, and still 6 overs remaining, 200+ surely has to be on our radar.

No team should ever have to see Tom Curran coming in at number 7, that’s a long tail.

Shame about that run out, we could have done with Liam batting through. Especially the way he was seeing the ball.

Re: England v Pakistan T20
Poor last half hour by England, we might even get bowled out here, and 200 should have been a minimum, and that looks a big ask now.

Re: England v Pakistan T20
Normally you'd be fairly happy with 200, but given where England were at halfway that's possibly 10-20 runs short, and although we still have a chance we'll need to bowl and field well, Pakistan did both and that's what's got them back in the contest.
And of course should Pakistan complete this chase they'll take the series with a game to spare, so plenty of incentive for them them to finish the job.
The spinners will be the key, if they can find their length they should provide problems for the batsman, but England showed you can clear the boundary if you strike it well enough.
Strap in we could be in for another thriller.

It is difficult to comprehend how Curran consistently gets in this team.

29/0 off 3. exactly the start Pakistan would have dreamed off, England need wickets and PDQ.

Get Gregory back in the fray, he scores runs and takes wickets, whereas ATM T Curran does neither.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 4:34 pmIt is difficult to comprehend how Curran consistently gets in this team.
Finally a breakthrough, Mahmood strikes. 50-1 in the 6th.

Re: England v Pakistan T20
Watched this from the start. Have to say that six from Livingstone was astonishing.
We should have scored more than 200 but I think it’s going to be a tight game.

Re: England v Pakistan T20
The spinners turning the screw here, England on top now. 119 required off only 57 deliveries, unless someone goes big for an over or two Pakistan will be struggling to get near 200 from this position.

The spinners have made a big difference. They need 108 off 8 overs which is becoming a big, big ask.

Yep! big ask that, especially the way these two are bowling, looks like we're heading to a series decider in the 3rd game.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 5:14 pmThe spinners have made a big difference. They need 108 off 8 overs which is becoming a big, big ask.
Moeen getting in on the act now with a wicket, he's had a decent game today, and that should do his confidence the world of good.

105 off 7 at 15 per over and 5 wickets down. I’ll be stunned if they get these.

5 of the 6 wickets have fallen to spin, they're causing havoc against a decent Pakistan batting line-up.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 5:24 pmParkinson got a wicket with his last ball - fully deserved.
Parky finishes with 1-25 off his 4, which in the context of this match is very good.

Good win for England, with superb contributions with the bat and ball from the Lancashire contingent.

Re: England v Pakistan T20
Yes a good win for England in the end, and especially encouraging to see all the spinners playing such a big role, if England are going to stand any chance in the upcoming T20 WC in India this autumn spin will be key.
And it's worth remembering this is an England side missing the likes of Archer, Stokes & Woakes amongst many others, and yet they still won convincingly.
If he hadn't already Mahmood has surely booked his seat on the plane to India, and quite possibly Parkinson also, oh! and not forgetting Parkinson.
It's eminently feasible that England could have 4 Lancashire players when they take to the field for their 1st game of the WC, when did we last boast such a large contingent in the national XI? it must be a long time ago, certainly in the white ball format anyway.

Re: England v Pakistan T20
Great spells from Rashid and McGinley made it easy in the end, get Babar reasonably early and you have every chance against Pakistan.

Re: England v Pakistan T20
They just couldn't read Rashid, but then not many can, and that's why he's so effective in limited overs, he's so accurate and offers little to hit, so therefore he forces the batters to chance their arm if they want to score, and that's why he picks up so many scalps, but it's not only his wickets it's his miserly economy rate that is so valuable to this England side.
