Rhys Farnhill - Pro Burnley boxer

Post by PadihamThickNeck » Tue Jul 20, 2021 9:12 pm

Fighting out of Sandygate ABC just turned pro and won his first professional fight.

Says in the video attached his plan and his team's plan is to get the Burnley football fans behind him.

Good luck to the lad how good would it be to have a homegrown fighter do well in boxing. Imagine some big fights at the Turf if he does well I really think he would get a big backing.

Leeds with Warrington
Manchester with Hatton/Crolla and the rest
Sheffield - Kel Brook/Naseem

We have had some good boxers but it would be amazing to get one that has the following of the town and can go to a decent level.

GOOD LUCK RHYS- UTC

If he's any good he can do a body double stand-in for Jake Pauls next fight!

Would have been better to see him in action? obviously big boot boots to fill with Warren and Blue, but first impressions are he could cut easy with his bone structure. Wish him all the best of look and will follow him.

I follow local boxing and sadly I can’t see this lad ever filling Turf Moor. He’s average at best but seems a great lad.

Josh Holmes from Earby is the local lad to watch, definitely a British Champion in the coming years

Phil Mathews, whilst not born in Burnley was very successful in the early 70's until his poor show for the Middleweight title in September 72 when he lost to a body shot due to a poor prep in Tenerife. He did at one time have a room sort of dedicated to him in the Prinny Royal

Good gym and they have high hopes for the lad.

They all fight in claret and blue. Although one of main coaches down there is a West Ham fan. Right colours mind.

Good people down there though best of luck to him.

Good luck to the lad, some fighters suit the pro game more than the amateur game. One hell of a long way to go though before it earns him the sort of money you can live on, I admire them because only those closest to them see the sacrifices they make and work they put in
