Re: The Deer Hunter
Miles better than both of those. Green Mile is a decent film, Shawshank is a mainstream masterpiece, Deer Hunter is one of the best films of all time and had far more cultural impact/significance than Shawshank

Re: The Deer Hunter
I've seen those 2, but never The Deer Hunter, I'll catch it on the IP soon, from the little I've heard about it, it's certainly not for the faint hearted anyway, but it's one of those films many people have recommended you need to at least watch.

Amazing that John Cazale managed to perform his role given how sick he was. Great viewingDevils_Advocate wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 11:16 pmMiles better than both of those. What happened to bottles of Rolling Rock? Swear they used to be popular in the uk during the 90s/00s but you never see them anymore

Re: The Deer Hunter
deerhunter with an hour knocked off by a good editor would make a good film.
shawshank and the green mile just silly.
cardboard characters, especially the green mile.
philanthropist screws on death row in 30s america. yeah right.

What was the film that had a scene about Russian Roulette?
Was it the Deer Hunter or Apocalypse Now?

Re: The Deer Hunter
Very surprising that they sold Rolling Rock in the U.K. It was a very regional brewery when I was growing up in Pennsylvania in the 80’s and wasn’t particularly easy to find when I moved. More easily found now that they were bought up.JohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 11:26 pmWhat happened to bottles of Rolling Rock? Re: The Deer Hunter
Wow, I find myself in total agreement with DA. What is happening? Have I awoken into some strange universe created by Pstotto, where DA actually makes sense? Help!Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 11:16 pmMiles better than both of those. One of the best films ever made. It’s a mad film. From the wedding scene to the roulette scene and everything else in between.
Love every film cazale is in. Great actor.
