a few tweets from non footballing types in brazil, and some stats (bane of our lives) from equally unreliable sources. Yet Burnley decide he's worth it.

I’m normally one of the most negative and even I’m impressed by this lad. He might turn out to be useless but after watching some of the videos posted he looks to have talent. We might just have to spend some time bulking him and getting him used to the physicalityWile E Coyote wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 9:50 pma few tweets from non footballing types in brazil, and some stats (bane of our lives) from equally unreliable sources. Think you all should chill out on this. If it happens it happens, think you all could be clutching at anything that's mentioned. Could it be an AI scouting hopeful? That the player or agents has jumped the gun.

Zico's real name was Arthur Coimbro, so maybe our Arthur can take solace from that.

Thinking slightly out the box here, but would Lennon partly be brought back with one eye on helping to develop Gomes?

Just been spoken about on TalkSPORT. Tim Vickary can’t can’t really understand the signing.

He’s just started following Barnsley instead.

Either way, at 2.1 million quid it's not much of a risk

talk sport Chester, therefore we can assume he is on his way. Danny Kelly hosting a betting company advert is no reason to doubt the rumours.

Re: Arthur Gomes
And what he says is he couldn't get a run in the Santos side because of a player who Real Madrid signed and hasn't done much whilst on loan. Sounds perfect for us, take the unwanted misfits and get the best out of them

Seen them all many times. These lads were all British kids who came through our system not a totally unknown from the streets of Brazil. He will be in for a shock with the change of climate, culture and language it will be extremely tough for him.Juan Tanamera wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 8:15 pmYou probably never saw the likes of Willie Morgan, Ralph Coates, Leighton James and Dave Thomas play.
Four of the finest exponents of the wingers trade.
Say what you like this is a high risk signing, which I doubt as the Dyche seal of approval and I honestly doubt we will see much of him, hope I am proved wrong though

Not trad the threshold thread, but he’s got history of this representation saying his signed for another club. He apparently sighed for Barcelona before according to YouTube.

Tim Vickery I think nails it with saying its the "Brentford approach" which does fit in with what the club have in mind for recruitment
Still wondering if this is the sort of transfer that SD has in mind though!

This is so uncharacteristic of us. If it happens a few people will be spitting out their tea and eating their hats.. even Dyche.
There, I said it. I'll eat my hat if we sign him.

Re: Arthur Gomes
We have had for quite a while a weird demand by some to sign someone foreign. Some have a huge phobia of the age 30. Aston Villa were being congratulated last week for getting the signing of Ings done quickly something we could never do.
Then a story breaks that we are signing someone young, foreign and it seems getting it done quickly (that quick that desperate Nixon didn't even get a chance to mention it) and then we decide he is crap and won't play.
There can't be a club in the country that gets close to some of ours

Re: Arthur Gomes
Said to have been released from his loan at Athletic Goianiense but still showing as a squad member on their official site.
https://atleticogoianiense.com.br/profi ... gomes.html
Of course, it's very early Monday morning in Brazil and the site may not have been updated as yet.
Interesting one this.
Someone said earlier that he wasn't a Dyche type player (Because he wasn't British or Irish.) but I'm not sure that's necessarily correct. Maybe it was just the previous board that thought that way? After all Gomez is the third foreign player we've been firmly linked with in this window, after Lookman and Cornet.
