Awful.
I've not been happy with the new owners since the start - the bullshit Pace was spewing was easy to pick up on.
Since then I've been less than impressed also, from the damming report in the Athletic/Atlantic all the way to this.
Going to look seriously grim come winter

Re: New Turf Moor Colour Scheme
The LED boards haven't arrived yet, they'll be installed ready for the Brighton game. That's all.cav wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 3:18 pm“You can’t polish a turd” …But somehow they’ve managed to make the Turf look more of a mess than it already was, quite an achievement in itself really.
Black paint everywhere, odd colours for the turnstiles and exits doors. “WELCOME TO TURF”, doesn’t even make sense.
The LED boards that were supposed to be on the outside of all the stands are non existent, same for the ones proposed for the middle of the tiers and top of the Bob Lord stand. The new curved big screen hasn’t been added and neither has the 2nd screen that’s been in the works for 3 seasons now.
The the Big Screens are different screens. They're brand new supplied by Adi.tv who are installing all the other LED stuff everywhere are around the stadium.

They have now added the word 'Moor' (see new pic below) but just in black paint as thats all they had left. It was either a new tin of white paint or Aaron Lennon so a very tough decision for Mr Pace to make

It’s going to say Welcome to Turf Moor on both sides of the junction and the burnley crest under the advertisement screen. The sign writer who does work for me is doing itDevils_Advocate wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 3:42 pmThey have now added the word 'Moor' (see new pic below) but just in black paint as thats all they had left. Personally I would have gone with grey and white think it’s looks more modern

Looks good to me. Updating stuff to the 21st century. Small changes, that also make the ground easier to navigate for new fans. As for the black, it's been a pretty common away shirt colour in recent years, plus it won't weather badly.

Re: New Turf Moor Colour Scheme
There was a picture a day or two back where it said "Welcome to T". Do we presume that it's fan pressure made them change it?
It's incomplete, that's all. I don't know why it should take so long, but it will be done, I'm sure.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the black paint but that was always planned before the takeover. It was the yellow paint on the Jimmy Mac that I didn’t like.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 4:52 pmWill obviously get a chance to see for myself on Sat, but it looks okay to me

Different schemes for each stand is a good idea, certainly for the first time visitorsClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 4:58 pmI don’t think there’s anything wrong with the black paint but that was always planned before the takeover. It was the yellow paint on the Jimmy Mac that I didn’t like.
Guessing that ALK will be aggressively marketing the spaces we have for the majority of our games, which is a no bad thing

It is worrying cos Dyche does mimic us with the “on Turf”phrase whereas we’re actually saying going on the Turf
In the accent abbreviated form of going “Goin on’t Turf’
Oh dear

It has started with the manager saying on Turf - then we got the programme called Turf from 2014 - I've even heard Ben Mee say on Turf.BleedingClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 5:05 pmIt is worrying cos Dyche does mimic us with the “on Turf”phrase whereas we’re actually saying going on the Turf

I don’t think the 90% of the home crowd that sit in the same stand every game needs a colour codeLancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 5:04 pmDifferent schemes for each stand is a good idea, certainly for the first time visitors

Are we not one of the original league founders in which case we should treasure our rich heritage. To me we will soon start to see some hideous decisions including these new corporate colours that can only happen when you get rid of key internal staff who know how Burnley folk think and perceive our club

There are a lot of spaces in the home end for certain games, and I suspect ALK will be trying to fill them with whoever they can.BleedingClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 5:08 pmI don’t think the 90% of the home crowd that sit in the same stand every game needs a colour code

Look, its not something that we necessarily see as possible, but they clearly do, and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Re: New Turf Moor Colour Scheme
The issue with that is that the games with the most space are the least attractiveLancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 5:12 pmThere are a lot of spaces in the home end for certain games, and I suspect ALK will be trying to fill them with whoever they can.

They could build a 10,000 away end and fill it for Liverpool, Man City & United etc
But if it Crystal Palace on a rainy cold Tuesday night and the empty seats are in the basically uncovered lower tiers of JM & JH stands it’s not that saleable

We’ve dropped a t.
It was “are ya goan ont’t’Turf”? = “will one be going onto the Turf”?

Re: New Turf Moor Colour Scheme
Few thoughts;
The use of the black and grey is a major improvement and gives the place a far more modern look. Obviously we could paint all the walls and clad all the buildings in claret and blue but that would look extremely tacky, and age in no time. The black paint is harder to vandalise and the colour won’t fade as badly.
The Welcome to Turf Moor sign obviously isn’t finished, as it wasn’t when people got their knickers in a twist when the paintwork was left unfinished previously probably due to weather. My neighbour has some scaffold up which I also expect to be removed when the work is complete.
Lastly, the colour coded entrances. Some of the colours look a bit harsh on the eyes, but this is to improve way finding which will assist people who are unfamiliar with the stadium and those with disabilities. Surely doing things that actually live up to this ‘one club for all’ strapline should be applauded.

Maybe the black is something to do with the proposed electronic signage stuff that’s going to be all around.
Re: New Turf Moor Colour Scheme
I would rather we had put the money towards signing a player, than improving the exterior of the ground.

Re: New Turf Moor Colour Scheme
Don’t think that’s fair, people can question the appearance of the ground without it being an ALK piling on session. From what the club said in a meeting I had been to, a lot of this was planned prior to the takeover in any case (especially the LED board and the way finding elements anyway). I personally find the black, whilst modern, a little too depressing. If that’s just me that’s fine!Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 6:34 pmAll well and good but it’s already been decided by quite a few that whatever is done since the change of ownership = bad.
ALK will rightly be judged in the short and medium term on their ability to close transfers for the first team, not on their choice of colour scheme for an old wall.

I find the new colour scheme highly offensive.
The sooner they change it back to how it was before the better.
I for one won’t be going on again until it’s changed back.
