Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
I assume drinks, food, twix's etc won't be available to purchase inside the ground tomorrow, to avoid congestion on the concourse ?
Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
they were open as usual last Saturday

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Will there be a fanzone?
Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Fanzone opens at 12
Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Was there much change in terms of what was on sale, last Saturday? Hoping we might have some improvements in terms of food and beers - some local ales etc wouldn’t go amiss rather than bloody Tetleys and Carlsberg!!

All seemed the same to me on Saturday, including running out of hot food 3 minutes into HT .

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
They will never shake off that small club mentality. They would rather under order and sell all they have got with hundreds missing out than be left with a hundred pies at fifty pence a pop cost price. Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
The club is run in sections and each has it's budgets. That's the answer when Chris Gibson is questioned about it on twitter.
Not as simple as saying a club that earns millions can take a loss here getting fans local produce for instance.

Bud light is flipping awful.
Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Well if that’s the case then Chris should be requesting a bigger budget, especially if there’s evidence that sales can be generated.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 3:35 amThe club is run in sections and each has it's budgets. Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Hope to see a finer selection of beers but we’ll see. For some context at HT during the Cadiz friendly I tried to order two teas but could only have 1, as they had run out of tea bags... I’m not holding out much hope.

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
You could always order one of the burning hot pies with the black, burned pastry on the bottom.

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Why on earth would you want to buy refreshments in a football stadium, gets yourself into Tesco and get yourself a drink a pie and a chocolate bar.....you'll save yourself a fortune....it's even worse at rock concert....rip off merchants.
And the pies are burnt and the ales shite.

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
It never crosses my mind to get food and drink at the Turf, it's just not something I go there for. Might get a pie purely for warmth in the middle of winter but that would be it.

It all went downhill when they stopped serving mushy peas with your pie

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
The club get enough of my money, I prefer to support other local businesses for my pre and post match refreshments
Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Just read all the kiosks inside the ground will be open for food etc, no cash payments though.

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
There is a fairly strong ethical reason why the club may not want to waste 100 pies every game.
Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Haffners pies are a million times better than the crap they sell in the ground.

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow⁸
Hope that Carlsberg is still the beer of choice at the Turf. Need some good news after the result today
Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
1 bar open in Jimmy Mac lower, need to go down there at 30 mins if you want a beer......1 bar open on 1st game of season !!
Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Scolding hot too, everytime I've had one I've burnt my mouth. No idea how they make them that hotClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 9:00 amYou could always order one of the burning hot pies with the black, burned pastry on the bottom.
Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Not refreshments but empty soap dispensers in the Bob Lord loos. First league game after a global pandemic, I’d have expected simple things like that to be checked.

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
I fell out with the Mrs last week over the heat of my mashed potato, it was one of those plastic ready made tub ones from Tesco, I swear she put it in for 15 minutes instead of 6, burnt all my mouth

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Aren’t the pies supposed to be oven heated?
Anyway, the service in the JMU concourse today was abysmal. The queue wasn’t particularly long but the amount of time it takes to serve people a bottle of beer or a Bene and hot is a joke. I’m not particularly blaming the people working behind the bar, but surely they can implement a quicker system.

In a nutshell it is a lack of effective management. This is prevalent throughout all of our commercial activities.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 7:38 pmAren’t the pies supposed to be oven heated?

I'm sure the quickest way to purchase alcohol tea coffee and snacks would be to put Vending Machines on the Concourse areas.

Re: Refreshments in the Ground tomorrow
Hate to say it, but last time we went to bollewood they had it spot on under the concourse. 2 Pinter options to stop people going back as quick, can bars as well and also pre poured pints. It really isn’t difficult.
