Hayman's most telling contribution to the game was the amount of extras he gave away. Add that to being carted to all corners of the ground by the sub pro and it added up to a poor game for him.

Suppose another runners up trophy (against the House) goes into the bin. :D

UTH
Hayman had an odd time with the ball. Clearly never settled with his run up..gave wides aplenty and a no ball...and was bowling very short very often. The umpire had a word with him and the captain presumably about that but perhaps he was also running on the pitch on his follow through. Then he took 2 in 2 balls and was on a hat trick. Pretorious then dispatched him all over.

"Sh!thouses"
"I can't count all the fingers currently on the pitch"

Followed up by

" Too many fingers on that pitch, 6 on each hand"

True colours well and truely seen when the game was lost
Seriously? That’s appalling. I’m assuming they were from Clitheroe.

Yes , certainly better than Clitheroe's 1 pro and 10 paid groundsmen (alledgedly) :D

Indeed they were CT.

When the hattrick was on for the Clitheroe bowler both these idiots were going WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO as the bowler ran in

I was shocked by the comments. To be fair though to the main guy who seemed Ok, he was very complimentary of Lowerhouse as a club and said when they first came into the league they'd modelled themselves on Lowerhouse and that officials have been over and helped them get ready for the Lancashire league. I suppose the comments where just down to the emotion of losing a final.

No issues Lowerhouse winning. If it can’t be at the turf at least it’s in Burnley.

Not only that, all this was broadcast on the local " Community Radio Station " , Ribble FM ... There were comments about how long " certain players were in the shower " ( sic ) and how attractive the women were in the crowd ...

To paraphrase Al Murray, " natural selection's got some power-lifting to do in Clitheroe " .... It rather made me laugh, my parents moved there in 1975, when my sisters and I were 11, 9,and 2 when my Dad's new job brought us north from Kent. They're still regarded as new-comers !!

I’ve had the misfortune of seeing one of their junior sides play 3 times over the past few years. Two of them especially I wasn’t impressed with their attitude for the age they were, it obviously starts at an early age.

House built a good platform to crack on but then had a needless run out followed by a flurry of wickets. The sub Pro was still in.

It looked unlikely that we would get 200 and then the pro got himself set and then went mental.

What a sight. He smashed it to all parts and beyond to the delight of the Lowerhouse hoards who were also on top form.

Frankie was all over the shop in his first spell. His second was special. The House took key wickets at key times.

A really good game, which was still in the balance until Clitheroe's Mulligan was dubiously given LBW and then the game swung decisively to the 'Ouse. It was actually worth 3 times the admission fee to watch the Lowerhouse sub pro bat as he was blistering and as mentioned above his innings took Lowerhouse to an almost insurmountable total when they could easily have fallen away. Frankie's catch off his own bowling to seal the win was brilliant. A great occasion, really well organised by Clitheroe and great to see people from all over the league there to watch top quality cricket. UTH

Just a point of clarity. This commentary was NOT broadcast on Ribble FM. I was at at the game so didn’t hear it but Ribble FM just helped out with the infrastructure to set up the comms and PA. I have a music show on there and the station manager is also a Burnley fan, Ribble FM has done plenty of good community charity work through the pandemic and is pretty hot on Ofcom standards so wouldn’t have gone near it in terms of broadcasting live. Shame representatives of both clubs could not have been on the commentary for an occasion like this though, and a shame those offensive comments were made, especially as it had a lot of people keeping up with the game on there.

A fantastic day!

A very well organised final by Clitheroe and an innings of sheer brilliance from Ruhan Pretorious. He hit the ball as clean as anything I’ve seen in a long time

Frankie picked up 6, including an hat trick that nobody realised was an hat trick!

A point of note, the pro was far from expensive and didn’t even ask that he was going to be paid when we spoke to him, he just said he wanted to be part of the day! Top man!

Must have been close at breaking the gate receipts record with an attendance of 2350?

Obviously, you must be correct, although I watched most of the game and the " Commentators " clearly said they were going out live on Ribble FM on a number of occasions. However, as has been observed, they were somewhat " over-refreshed " ....

Not sure they got as many as they’d hoped, maybe 1,500 or so on there yesterday.

They did a great job organising though.

I did a stint on the stream/radio at the end of the first innings as the pro went ballistic!

Oh right, I saw a tweet with that figure and presumed it was the official one.

It's great for the host club with the funds it generates, but it's great for the house staff and volunteers they got to watch the game.

given that the pricing suggests over 17000 in attendance our 2021/22 Premier League opening day didn't either

Just to clarify, as it won’t let me edit, it was clitheroe. Lowerhouse, and and everyone else, have been competitive but fair. There is just something about the attitude when they play clitheroe.

I watched the end of the game on the video link and can't believe what the commentator came out with. Must be 50 Lowerhouse fans on the pitch, each with 6 fingers. And then a random "shithouse". Very poor.
