Premier League Rivals
We are to Leeds what Stockport is to us and to be fair Leeds are as bad when it comes to Man Utd
Re: Premier League Rivals
Burnley and Leeds bigger rivals then Man Utd & Man City ?....is that what it says ?

Re: Premier League Rivals
Nope, its saying 56% of our supporters consider Leeds our rival whilst Leeds couldnt give flying one about Burnley.

Re: Premier League Rivals
I love these surveys where the majority never seemed to be asked on it then they usually run a headline story.
Re: Premier League Rivals
Same old sky.
Man United get two picks.
Leicester, Brentford get none.

Re: Premier League Rivals
Totally understandable. Practically the closest Premier League club to Burnley, a lot of ‘no mans land’ between the two clubs unlike to the Manchester clubs, and the Lancashire/Yorkshire angle.
I’m actually surprised that only 56% of people consider Leeds to be our biggest rival in the division as I can’t think of any other club that currently comes close.

The anti Leeds songs are cringeworthy. Reminds me of the 4th Division clubs that used to sing that they hated us.

Re: Premier League Rivals
I would have thought the correct answer for Burnley was "none of the above". Leeds might be the most disliked, but that's not the same as being rivals. It's the same thing as when all that Stockport nonsense was going on. Even then, Blackburn were rivals, Stockport were the scrapings off the shoe.

Re: Premier League Rivals
I imagine a few would have said Brighton. In our ‘mini league’, more than a few derogatory comments about us and some notable games recently, dating back to Poyet days.
In fact, I think I would’ve said them ahead of Leeds.

Re: Premier League Rivals
In a lot of the Yorks/Lancs border towns - Skipton is a good example - Burnley and Leeds is THE rivalry. And Leeds fans in that area would agree.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 7:03 pmWe are to Leeds what Stockport is to us and to be fair Leeds are as bad when it comes to Man Utd
Re: Premier League Rivals
I was asked this question a few weeks back in a survey. I genuinely couldn't think of a current PL club I'd consider our rival. There's a few other weird rivalries on that list though. Norwich consider Watford their rivals? Watford the same with Palace?
I do understand the history of the Palace v Brighton rivalry but it's still one of the more bizarre ones. Let it go!

Re: Premier League Rivals
Completely meaningless survey.
So 4% of Everton fans don’t consider Liverpool to be their rivals? I find that very hard to believe.

Re: Premier League Rivals
Ask most Man Utd fans they hate Liverpool a lot more than City.
Re: Premier League Rivals
It depends on what term you use as “rivals”.
4% of Everton fans don’t think Liverpool are but that 4% may have choose a team like Leicester City/West Ham United in terms of european challengers. Liverpool have 54% of Manchester City which makes sense given those two sides have been far the best over the past 3/4 years in the Premier League.
I find a few odd like Tottenham/Arsenal. Both have each other as rivals but the percentages look hard to believe. Not only being from north London and historically rivals but also fighting for Champions League/European places against each other.

Re: Premier League Rivals
We will see the Leeds rivalry next weekend around the ground before and after the game and in the ground during the game, the cricket field stand should be a fun place to be
