Agreed ... we were in that game right to the end ... well played lads against a strong tight Liverpool side
Re: Seen enough!
Annoying? Of course. But we'll be fine.

Re: Seen enough!
Totally agree.....never completely out of it and could easily have pulled a goal back, late on.
Playing like that (in general) we'll be ok.

Re: Seen enough!
It was a good performance today everything considered. We created enough chances to score a couple. As things stand the key issue is our strength in depth over the course of the season. If we have few injuries we should be ok, but if we are unfortunate with injuries it will probably be very damaging.

Agreed, happy with that performance. Just a couple more additions to give us attacking options & we'll be fine!

A decent performance but standing off players and giving them time to cross cost us
We need our cm playmaker desperately

Re: Seen enough!
A 2-0 defeat against Liverpool could almost be described as "respectable ' but in considering the results and performances in the two league games to date and lack of activity (to date) in bringing in players who can have a positive impact on forthcoming games I'm wondering whether home crowds will turn on the Directors

Re: Seen enough!
We did ok today but Liverpool could have easily gone up another gear or two had they needed to. Its the performance and results against the likes of Brighton and Leeds that will be more telling

A defeat against Leeds could be very damaging to morale for players and supporters alike.
Re: Seen enough!
Lost at home to Brighton last week.
Playing well against a big team won't see us safe unfortunately.

The bench once again looked very weak.
Inevitable that we will suffer injuries at some point during the season and we will not always be able to field numbers 1 to 11.

The Leeds game is already huge , we tend to do it when we have to and a win will set us off nicely . Good performance today all round against one of the best club teams in the world .

Re: Seen enough!
Certainly some big positives from the game especially the first half.
However I also think it highlighted our need for strengthening throughout the team. 4 to 5 additions required by the end of the January window.

Re: Seen enough!
Depends "which Burnley " turn up. Today it was the battling version, and technically could have got a result. The worry is we cannot do this every week, where everyone is on their game. We will get beat by poor sides but win some against the odds. Our toughest challenge in 6 years

Re: Seen enough!
Don’t “mind” losing to Liverpool, most of the other teams in the league will lose so that’s not a concern….
The concern is how many matches now thinking back last season have we said that we need to be more clinical?
We need to start putting the ball in the back of the net. Simply need to score more, especially as the “tight defence” we used to have seems to be shipping goals for fun.

Re: Seen enough!
We did OK.
The squad needs some serious additions next week, though, or we’ll be in real trouble this season.

Now let's do Leeds next week.
Re: Seen enough!
I agree...but desperate for new faces. Thought Elliot was brilliant for the Reds, I realise he is a real talent...but Klopp not frightened to throw an 18 Yr old in there.

Re: Seen enough!
Options on the bench would have proven big today. We had nothing to chose from , otherwise we would have got something from that I’m certain. McNeil was brilliant in the first half

Great first halves in two games now. Let's practice against Newcastle and be dirtier than Leeds in both halves next sunday! . And maybe, just maybe we¨ll have a new Claret or two by then... UTC!

Re: Seen enough!
Lack of confidence made the difference today. Had we scored rather than them it might have been different, but having lost parity we were always going to be between stools and in end Liverpool looked more comfortable than they were in the second half.
Decent performance but still no answer once going behind to a top team.

Could be bottom of the league clash next week against Weeds

Re: Seen enough!
We were fine today overall, but we were fine last week for 60 minutes too before we ran out of legs and had no help from the bench.
That's the reality of this season. We'll play well for periods of the game, but other teams, including all those around us, have far deeper squads with which to refresh the team during a game and switch the momentum.
Another thing though, we don't half invite pressure on to ourselves at times. Just keep the sodding ball!!!

A loss at home against Brighton and a loss against Liverpool with 2 keepers, couple of pensioners and a couple of kids on the bench I’ve seen enough to think that somethings not alright

Re: Seen enough!
Didn't see the game, but it sounds like we played decent enough today, and a 2-0 defeat at Anfield is no disgrace for sure.
Fine margins again, last week JBG hits the post, and Ben hits the bar, today Dwight hits the post.
That's 3 times in 2 games where we've been denied by the woodwork, sooner or later they'll start going in.
Plenty of encouragement to take from today, and we were in the game for 70 minutes at a top team.
That said we could really do with a result against Leeds just to get us up and running if nothing else.
But we've shown enough in both our games so far to suggest we'll be fine.
We just need to be more clinical when the chances come, and try and start keeping clean sheets again.
But we're not far away to claiming points I feel.

Re: Seen enough!
We played better than anyone expected today. Sadly its not going to guarrantee us future points owing to the clinical nature of the PL. How we could do with a "fox in the box" type striker like Robbie Blake or Danny Ings
Re: Seen enough!
conyoviejo, Well we've more chance of staying up than you have of EVER saying anything positive about the club, haven't we?

Re: Seen enough!
We just need to be able to play well in both halves, or at least play well for large spells in both halves , desperate for reinforcements or I fear it will go to the wire.
Re: Seen enough!
I actually felt that we might have to use our spare games last season to make sure we stayed up.
We might have to this time.

Re: Seen enough!
It'll probably go to the wire anyway, but a signing or two this week could make all the difference.
Re: Seen enough!
Hopefully I'll do a bit of analysis on our chances and how the fixtures fall to see where we can pick up points.

Re: Seen enough!
All in a all a cracking performance away to Liverpool today, we were in it till the final kick.
Re: Seen enough!
Had Liverpool started with a midfield of Henderson, Alcantara and Fabinho we would not have lived with them
Playing Keita and Elliott did us a favour
Our midfield was pretty much bang average and McNeill cannot play WR (thought he was the best Burnley player in first half by a mile when WL)
Up front, there was just no control of the ball when Wood and Barnes had it put to their feet
If people think keeping that Liverpool side to two goals means we are going to be safe they need to get a reality check
We still need at least two first team starters in midfield to compete in the lower half of the table this season
Next Sunday will be another benchmark, like Brighton, to assess our capabilities against teams considered at our level

Basically we're in a mini league with the clubs you've just listed. The thing that worries me a bit is our home form recently. Last season off the top of my head we only beat Sheff U of the team's around us.
