Ocky is as reliable as they come. I think we let him go because we wanted a player a bit more explosive and we apparently found one in the South African we had lined up. Covid put pay to that and we went with the safety of a home pro. Fair to say it's not really working out.

I’m amazed. When Lowerhouse announced Parry I thought they’d landed themselves a really good pro.

Just seen a clip of the winning runs. From the sound of the cheers there were significantly more Ormskirk fans than the time they played us.

Ocki was let go by 'Ouse because he didn't look the same player after his bad injury, but they may well have got it wrong. He's still an extremely good player and a great bloke to boot, who is also brilliant with the younger players and despite not being wam, bam and overtly "spectacular" he quietly wins plenty of games.

Interesting, he was actually let go because we’d had him for 3 years, he’d not done anything of particular note and it was time for a change……not dissimilar to all his other placements in the league.

For me, to keep a pro beyond 3 years they have to be either hugely successful or something special.

Ocky is a solid league pro, but he’s not necessarily going to win you a lot.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone speak a bad word about Ocky from fans or cricketers where he has pro'd or sub pro'd.

Lowerhouse were probably right to replace him though with a hard hitting batsman that can take games away from the opposition. I know covid disrupted that.

I wouldn't be surprised to see committee members checking for get out clauses to Parrys contract and trying for the cup final winning pro.
