I haven't notice Pat Jennings get a mention, he was a bit better than average and Iam Mcfaul would've been at Newcastle in the 60s

Re: 1960s goalies
I see Stepney of Man U mentioned but prior to him they had three keepers, Harry Gregg ( a Munich survivor ) Gaskell, already mentioned and Pat Dunne a relative unknown.
Re: 1960s goalies
Tony Macedo the Fulham goalkeeper in the '60's brings back memories from my schoolboy days.
I was intrigued as a young lad that Macedo was from Malta but was playing in the 1st Division with Fulham.
However I have read in more recent times that in fact he was from Gibraltar and his family were evacuated here during wartime.
I remember him playing on the Turf and would think that he probably played against us in the FA Cup semi final in 1962.

Bobby Ferguson at West Ham
Conceded a superb volley from Ralph Coates, Cricket Field End, think we won 3-2.

Laurie was 5’8”. Never really a regular for Ipswich although he made over 100 appearances. Most famous as the professor says as the German keeper in ETV

Peter Mellor Remember he did the Brut advert
Re: 1960s goalies
He was also from the 1970's. David Best was in goal for Ipswich prior to him arriving.Culmclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 5:09 pmLaurie was 5’8”. Never really a regular for Ipswich although he made over 100 appearances. Most famous as the professor says as the German keeper in ETV
