Burnley defender Nathan Collins has earned his first call-up to the senior Republic of Ireland squad for next month's World Cup qualifiers.

Brighton's Aaron Connolly and Newcastle's Jeff Hendrick are recalled.

Stephen Kenny's side play Portugal, Azerbaijan and Serbia in Group A.

So we could see Nathan having the easy task of marking Ronaldo, a nice easy start to his international career in that case.

Pleased for Collins and Pope.. disappointed for Tarkowski as it's difficult to see why Mings and Coady are consistently called up.. Dwight can't be far off too.. Hendrick there on reputation rather than form.. was Collins a regular international at Stoke or has the move upped his profile ?
