He could add another 4-5 to their scoreline against us. I'd rather keep it double figures!

Would love it, he’d sell out every ground he played at.
Playing that City side from last year with Grealish & Ronaldo added would be ridiculous, like year 11 v year 4

Messi stayed in Spain, Ronaldo played in top leagues in Italy, Spain, and our premier league, when Messi steps out of Spain he can't do it, look at his performances for Argentina. Ronaldo for me by a mile.PremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 11:18 pmHe’s certainly been a top player, not even close to Messi though.

Re: Ronaldo at Turf Moor
Ronaldo was at Man Utd 2003-2009
We didn’t play them during that time in any cup games
The only game we played against them in that period was Stans testimonial in 2004 and he wasn’t in their squad

Would that mean, if Mee and Tarky kept him quiet we would all absolutely say Messi is the best?
Both amazing players, although Ronaldo always strikes me as the strong greedy kid at school who is very good, but isn't interested in anybody else having a good game as long as he wins and he wins it... whereas Messi is more awe-inspiring and wants to have fun with his team.

If anything the opposite. Stats shows that Messi has performed at a much higher standard against big teams and in important games. Compared to Ronaldo who has padded his stats with a lot of goals against weak teams.

You sure about that?
Off the top of my head, Ronaldo has won titles in 3 major leagues and the Euros and Nations League with Portugal and hasn't finished yet by all accounts. Messi has had a cushy lifetime playing for Barcelona where he is not exactly taxed most weeks and had now chased the money in that hotbed of top level football in France.
Anyway, would have both of them playing for Burnley given the chance.

The lengths people go to, to suggest Ronaldo is better is weird.
Nations League? That’s like using the League Cup to suggest a player is better than other.
Taxes? What has that to do with anything?
Cushy life at Barcelona? Because Manchester United in Ronaldos time weren’t the biggest, most successful and richest club in England. Real Madrid the club that bought arguably the biggest stricker prospect in football, Benzema and the best player in the world at the time Kaka in the same window as Ronaldo. As well as other big signings almost every single season he was there. Then he goes to Juventus for a “challenge” the side that had won Seria A 7 years on the bounce before he arrived. The richest, biggest and probably (I use probably because I can’t be arsed looking) the most successful club in Italian history.
To suggest Messi had it “cushy” and Ronaldo didn’t is obscene. We had some plant pot suggesting Ronaldo was better the other week on here because Ronaldo moved to Manchester at 18. Ignoring the fact Messi moved across the world as a child.

Re: Ronaldo at Turf Moor
Reports that City pulled out as Ronaldo is not the profile of player they're looking for, probably age wise, but United now the front runners for his signature but his agent is talking to other European clubs as well, got to presume that includes PSG and Real Madrid, depending what happens with Mbappe.
Re: Ronaldo at Turf Moor
I absolutely adore Lionel Messi but Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest of all time for me.
He’s done it anywhere and everywhere. The complete footballer.

United offer 25 million euro to Juventus, reportedly offering Ronaldo a two year deal worth £480,000 a week.

Looking forward to seeing him back in the premier league. An incredible player and, in my eyes, one of the best ever players, if not, the best ever.
