Dyche on Radio 5
Just listened to Dyche's interview on Radio 5 and was surprised by how cool he was regarding our new signing. He just about said it's the chairmans signing now we'll have a look at him and see if can do a job for us and if he fits in.

Re: Dyche on Radio 5
Well he’s not British (or Irish). Bound to scare Sean just a little.
Re: Dyche on Radio 5
So Dyche said it wasn't a player he wanted or asked for, but the club signed anyway?

Good job there’s nine subs now. We may just get to see Cornet at some point.

I hope not. I'm not wanting another Mee or Vydra moment.Claret Alfie wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 6:26 pmGood job there’s nine subs now. We may just get to see Cornet at some point.

When did he say that?
The interview I heard on the way back home at half time in the Wolves-United game didn't even mention Cornet at all

Re: Dyche on Radio 5
not heard the radio 5 interview but listening to Dyche's interview on the club site he congratulates Pace and co on their sheer effort to get a tricky signing done. They are well aligned no doubt about it imho

Re: Dyche on Radio 5
Not sure he said it was the chairman’s signing. From what I heard on clarets plus he said the chairman has worked very hard to get this one over the line and that he was looking forward to getting him around the group.
I doubt we would sign someone the manager has not agreed on. Especially not for 13 million. Nixon has also said this that cornet was unanimously wanted by all in the club.

Re: Dyche on Radio 5
They asked him directly how he felt about the Cornet signing I thought it was Radio 5 will check as listened to two interviews on the way home and his reply is pretty accurate paraphrasing.

Re: Dyche on Radio 5
I'm not suggesting he's not wanted but there was no he can improve us etc. talk. Very cautious maybe preparing us for a period on the bench?
Re: Dyche on Radio 5
Pace has openly explained the recruitment policy, in that they have to be someone Dyche wants, even almost a Veto.

I agree - I think Sean will be cautious for a long time (like 2.2 weeks) till he fetches Maxi off the bench.cblantfanclub wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 6:39 pmI'm not suggesting he's not wanted but there was no he can improve us etc. talk. Very cautious maybe preparing us for a period on the bench?

You might want to go get your hearing checked, or continue making stuff up, whichever you're happier doing.

Re: Dyche on Radio 5
Sean Dyche has been Burnley manager since 2012. I don't recall him ever making out that one player is better than any of the other players. It's always about "the group" and the contribution that all the players make to the group. That's how it works "welcome to the group" rather than "you are our new star..." etccblantfanclub wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 6:39 pmI'm not suggesting he's not wanted but there was no he can improve us etc. talk. Do you mean Pace?
Re: Dyche on Radio 5
Paul Waine is spot on, he's protecting the squad ethos and ensuring that there are no egos.

Re: Dyche on Radio 5
I doubt they would have worked so hard to get him if Dyche didn't want him. He wouldn't have been very happy if they weren't trying for players he wanted because of this one.

5 years also suggests he'll have time to settle in and get used to us. I wouldn't be expecting him to be straight in for a while yet knowing Dyche

Re: Dyche on Radio 5
Dyche probably didn’t identify him, but I would imagine he signed off on him.
As others have said, Dyche is cool about every signing.
