Colne v Nelson, T20, to give Joe Scuderi a send-off as he returns to Australia. Starts at 5.45, bar open, burger van, all the trimmings. And (seeing as it's Nelson) we have to fancy that Colne have an outside chance of winning!

And indeed, another win for the mighty Colne. Nelson 102-5 from 16 overs, Colne 104-0 from 11.3. We are well placed for next season in the second division! And at least we have won a trophy this year - the Scuderi Shield is ours!!!

Was the trophy for actually winning a game of cricket? Inventing a game against the worst side in the entire Lancashire League just to say you won a game?

Confidence will be sky high now surely? A storming end to the season in prospect?

Confidence is through the roof. We won't lose more than a couple of games between now and the end of the season. (Less, if it rains.)

Going to be interesting to see how they get on without Smit next season. Grimshaw the standout amateur but he only made 13 i think today.

I don’t think it’s helped that the pro got caught offering his services to other clubs mid season

Very good amateur, any club in the league would snap him up

I’d imagine so, shame Smit is leaving, always said he was one of the best pros of recent times, looks on the big side for a pro these days but has been brilliant and I think we all end up going that way eventually

It's sometimes crazy who makes the best pro's. Smit struggled to get a game at Derby and batted 9 when he did.
Plenty of Test standard players in recent years but many regard Smit as the best pro.

It was on the cold side at Padiham yesterday.

They play up at Baxenden next week and I fully expect 3 players to come back with frostbite.

It will get lively that's a definite given what is at stake. They are bad at the best of times..today will be fun. I hope you stick it up em....but lose next week
