Magnificent stadium, pitch is like a ploughed field.
Cornet wears 11, starts for Aurier, Boly, Haller, Bailly and Seri.

The Elephants are on top early on.
Cornet had an early run down the left and a shot on goal, but was off balance, so didn't trouble the keeper

Better pitches up Townley, if he can play on that he can play on anything

That buzzing sound from the crowd is annoying! Reminds me of the vuvuzelas at the World Cup in South Africa!

Neither team have names on their shirts. Thought that would be a FIFA requirement

Most of Ivory Coast's play is down the right side, Cornet has done very little (right).

Loving the orange dancers. Can't see synchronised dancing catching on in the Cricket Field Stand

I think that our man is playing. I saw him come off at half time but didn’t see him do anything in the twenty minutes that I watched.

Re: Ivory Coast v Cameroon 8pm Monday
I've been in a meeting, just got out and saw last ten mins or so. If he's wearing 11 then the only time I saw him was coming off at half time.dermotdermot wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 8:54 pmI think that our man is playing. Re: Ivory Coast v Cameroon 8pm Monday
You can definitely see he has something we don’t possess, namely a bit of pace and trickery.
However that was pretty poor half for him. He struggled to get involved and when players ran at him he looked defensively poor

His team mates probably aren't passing to him like the u21s did with McNeil cos he's joined Burnley

Re: Ivory Coast v Cameroon 8pm Monday
Our man in Abidjan had a quiet first half. Didn't see much of the ball. Most of the play was down Ivory Coast's right hand side. Looks quick though and likes to get forward at every opportunity. Some nice bits of skill early on. Hard to judge anyone on that pitch though

He's not seen much of the ball as most of their attacking play is down the right, second half at least we will be able to see him closer as the one camera didn't give close ups on the far side in the first half.

Thanks, but I think I'll stick to the French. It adds a certain 'je ne sais quoi' to the experienceKRBFC wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 9:00 pmThere's 2 Youtube streams, one is in English. Here's the link:

Re: Ivory Coast v Cameroon 8pm Monday
Got into good positions twice and would have been clean in on goal but each time the team mate just dribbled with it. I’m liking that.ClaretGent wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 9:00 pmOur man in Abidjan had a quiet first half. Didn't see much of the ball. Most of the play was down Ivory Coast's right hand side. IC going down the right every chance they get so it’s not like he’s not getting involved, he’s staying in shape.

Re: Ivory Coast v Cameroon 8pm Monday
Left wide midfield, hasn't done a lot.
The IC's right winger has been very good.
