Charlie Taylor apology doesnt go down too well...

After hitting a fan during the warm up in the Newcastle v Burnley cup game, Charlie Taylor went back to hand the fan his match shirt as a way of an apology only to be meant with some unpleasant language.

Fair play Charlie for trying to do the right thing, shame some people are just a bit silly.

Had it been a Burnley fan, there's would have been the icing on the cake.

It was a Newcastle fan.

Match worn tops go for good money, especially if verified/authenticated and signed.
I'd make the bugger sign it if offered one and then sell it.

I'd keep a Newcastle defenders shirt. If it was Ronaldo s I'd sell it. Would keep a rodon or Davies spurs shirt but sell kane.
So what shirts would we all refuse?
Probably only a Liverpool shirt for me. I'd have trouble accepting West ham, Salford, Real Madrid (except bale) or Watford. My dislike for West ham has mellowed a bit after their comedy pitch invasion.

At the end of the day a player caused an inconvenience or slight injury/embarrassment to a fan totally by accident, and merely tried to apologise, not just verbally but with a small gift for the person to do what they like with.

To be verbally abused when offering either an apology or a gift to apologise isn't on, whether you're a footballer or just a man in the street.

Glad Charlie tried to do the right thing, as no doubt if he hadnt bothered at all, there would have been a bigger story trying to taint his character.

Glad our club is full of these types of characters.

Exactly. I’m sure everyone would much rather this be the story than, “Charlie doesn’t apologise”

And let’s face it, after the recent news we all know how mine mannered the Geordie lot are when it comes to Burnley
