It’s a nice looking shirt, but looks more like a training top than a playing shirt

I quite like that, a bit of a throw back to the mid 70's away kit and I liked that too.
And helping a good cause is no bad thing either .

Three excellent looking kits from Umbro this season.
Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
They are also giving £5 per shirt to the charity.. Not all bad

£10...because the sponsor is matching the clubs donation

Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
I like the home and away but not keen on this looks like a cheap Sunday league kit.
Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
Look’s more like a training kit for me. Gold also looks awful in/on everything that isn’t actually “gold”.

Sadly, sponsorship is a way of life in football nowadays but it has been enough years since the 1st sponsored shirt appeared I would have thought you should be used to it by now. This sponsorship deal is, I think, worth more over the season than the gate money a full Turf Moor every week would bring in!

Actually it’s not that bad after seeing a full picture.
Does look abit like a training kit, I think it will grow on me.

You might not have a problem with a shirt advertising gambling, many others do.bfcmik wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 12:44 pmSadly, sponsorship is a way of life in football nowadays but it has been enough years since the 1st sponsored shirt appeared I would have thought you should be used to it by now. Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
It’s really quite nice! As someone that has spent time researching the effects of Alzheimer’s and Dementia anthropologically, I’m really looking forward to owning this to support the club and the cause!
As a sidenote, I’m still looking to find the Evergreen third kit (just the top) from two seasons ago! If anyone knows where I can pick one up (that ships to the USA) I’d greatly appreciate it. I’ve messaged the club but they’ve never gotten back to me.
Cheers.

Until somebody comes up with a viable alternative for someone to sponsor the club, we have to take the good with the bad. Today's announcement is the good bit.

Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
Maybe it's because I've just grown up with us always having sponsors, but I think the shirts would look strange without one of some description on.
I never really liked the one we had (which for some reason I always associate with Kevin Ball!) in Stan's era, it just looked odd.
Yes it's a gambling company which some people have a problem with, but as a logo it's pretty inoffensive - especially compared to the previous ones we've had with random symbols on.
Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
Nice kit as are the other two. Really like the charitable contribution aspect too. Well done BFC and the sponsor on this one.

I can't transfer it onto here but there is an image in this article of both Paul Fletcher and Peter Noble in that kit at Arsenal. You can expand the pic by clicking top right.Juan Tanamera wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 2:12 pmI tried to find a picture of a 1970's away shirt to show my son.

Religious beliefs or not, ALK are businessmen and if a betting company offers more dosh, then that is where they'll go.

Said this before but I'd genuinely change our home colours to claret and navy. Well smart.

Easy to complain about the shirt sponsor when you don’t have to manage the debt.
Morals don’t pay the bills. Alan Pace gets it.

Alzheimer’s is a horrible illness, that has, or will affect every family. Any help is most welcome, and if that comes from a betting company, good on them, it will do more good than bad.

Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
In fairness, most of the people complaining about the shirt sponsor were doing do so when the club was in the black to the tune of tens of millions.ChristheViking wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 4:56 pmEasy to complain about the shirt sponsor when you don’t have to manage the debt.

Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
It is yet another truly outstanding kit, in my opinion. Sadly, for reasons explained in plenty of detail over the last year or so, the sponsor on the shirt is preventing me from buying all three. And I would pay more than the value of the shirt, for a sponsorless edition x3.
Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
That would defeat the purpose of somebody paying to sponsor the shirt though.jdrobbo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 5:22 pmIt is yet another truly outstanding kit, in my opinion. And if fans dont like it.. its tough luck
Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
Lovely kit. It might be a while till it’s first airing which I presume will be at Southampton at the end of October.

Re: 2021/22 Third Kit
Whilst I agree with you, it has been proven at other clubs, that perfectly viable alternatives are possible. West Ham allowed fans to buy sponsorless shirts both last season snd this AND at the same price, so it can be done.
It’s all very well and good having a go at those fans questioning the morals of the club when it comes to endorsing gambling sponsors, but I know for a fact that a hell of a lot of work has been put in behind-the-scenes, to engage with the club on this matter by the Supporters Groups.
I feel that we are extremely close to a point where gambling sponsorship will be removed from shirts in the not too distant future. I would like to think this is one reason why our current deal is on such short terms. Times are changing and rightly so.
Do I accept that gambling companies currently offer by far the greatest sponsorship deals financially? Yes, sadly I do. Do I believe the future of gambling sponsorship on shirts will change? Yes and relatively soon. Do I believe that this is an issue that people with a moral compass and firm opinion on the subject, should continue to bang the drum on? Yes, absolutely!!
