Types of goal...... and your favourite example
Ok - this is a bit JDVBUEURobbo...... but I am going with it anyway.
All you have to do, is list your favourite type of finish, and your favourite example of it. For example
Chip..... Glen Little vs Bristol Rovers
Diving Header - Sean St Ledger OG vs Preston.
How many types of finish can we get, and how many examples?
Go for it..... and yes, this is interesting.

Speaking of Steven Defour...his free kick at Old Trafford was a thing of beauty, watching DDG grasping thin air was a magnificent sight to behold so I'll go with beautiful free kicks as my favourite type of goal.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 8:04 pmGoals that just lift the place such as the brilliant Defour lob against Bristol City

Winger skinning the full back getting to the byline and pinging in the pinpoint cross for the striker to bury the header.
A little rare at Burnley but once Roberts is fit we will see it again

Did enjoy Blake’s free kick against PNE away from home when it cannoned in off one post and the keeper just watches then turns his head to see it in the opposite corner

Solo breakaways. It’s the tension I love, will they won’t they?
Coates v Liverpool ‘66
Kindon v Celtic
Hamilton v PNE ‘82.
But sadly the very best was Peter Osgood against us when he carried the ball from his own 18yd line.

Was that on a horrendous day? I nearly said windy but I’ve never been to Stoke and it not be windy
Re: Types of goal...... and your favourite example
Soft spot for far post finishes. Ones where the cross buzzes across the six yard box, keeper scurrying, as he and the crowd await the almost inevitable. Satisfying if it's a tight angle, into the roof of the net.
McNeil against West Ham.

Uber-cannon off the underside of the bar.
My favourite being the unbelievable control followed by a crossbar destroyer that was Yeboah for the dirty ones vs the crazy ones...

Close range at a wide angle. Near post. Power. Crossbar then in.. Gayle almost did it to us versus Newcastle.
Love near post goals as a whole because you expect the goalkeeper to get there 99% of the time so when it's in, it's usually special.

Counter attack one end of the pitch to the other, there isn't a better build up to a goal.
