Bumped into a mutual friend last week I believe. He mentioned that he knew the proprietor of that bar, so when I enquired if it was a Burnley fan he confirmed. Goes by the name of Mr Shelley?!

Interesting! I was told someone popped in while his other half was at the dentist to check us out for a Burnley fans meeting. Apologies for my incorrect assumption!

I’m with you now! I had spoken to you previously and a member of the group contacted me to ask which place you worked at so he could drop in for a drink. We’d love to meet on Otley (on my doorstep) but we struggle to have successful meet-ups when the town isn’t on the train route.

Post by jdrobbo » Tue Jul 19, 2022 10:27 am

Hi everyone,

Here's a summer walk reminder....

SATURDAY 23RD JULY (11am in HEBDEN BRIDGE)

Below, I have provided some further information...

Meet at Hebden Bridge station at 11am for those coming by train

Walk to pick up others in Hebden Bridge, at the foot of Heptonstall cobble path by 11.20/11.30 (approx).

Head to the White Lion at Heptonstall for 12 noon (when they open).

Then the main part of walk follows next, via Midgehole/New Bridge following Crimsworth Dean to Top o'Stairs.

Next, we'll head down Stairs Lane, then on the diagonal path to Oxenhope where we take in needed refreshment at the Bay Horse.

Then people can choose:

i) on to Keighley station by Worth Valley railway (last train 4.45pm), or hourly bus.

ii) continue the walk down the valley to Haworth (choice of hostelries) then bus back to Keighley (every 20 mins) - last bus at 6:18pm

Thank you and see you soon.

John

Re: West Yorkshire Clarets - Upcoming Walk (Skipton - THIS SUNDAY 19.2.2023) and next meeting (Huddersfield - NEXT THURS

Post by jdrobbo » Thu Feb 16, 2023 1:05 pm

WINTER WALK - Sunday 19.2.2023

The first planned walk will take place on Sunday 19th February, with a meeting location of SKIPTON BUS STATION. The meeting time will be 10am and the walk's distance will be approximately SEVEN MILES. This walk will not be a strenuous one and all fitness levels will be made very welcome.

The route of the walk will be from Skipton to Silsden over the moors (via Bradley where a stop at the Slater's Arms will be made). At the end of the walk, either bus or train can be used to journey back into Skipton.

IF the weather is poor, an alternate walk will still go ahead, using the canal to get from Skipton to Silsden.

If you are keen to join us for the walk, please do feel free to let me know, by replying to this thread or by dropping us an email (see post 1), and I will then ensure that the organisers of this event are informed.

Similarly, if you need any further details, please contact us.

HUDDERSFIELD MEETING - NEXT THURSDAY 23.2.23 (from 7:30pm)
