U17s vs United. Premier League cup
Am watching at Leyland. Will be interesting to see how we’re looking at this age group.
Just seen us go 1-0 down with a smart turn and finish at the edge of our box.
Team
Casper, Ashton, Findlow, Ward, James, Sassi, Tioffo, Bauress, Westley, Le Fondre, Bryan
Subs: Moss, Vaughan, Leckie, Wane, Yoganathan

Make that 2-0. Our right back caught out on a cross field pass. Almost conceded a penalty but couldn’t stop their last from scoring.

2-1. First goal for Westley (not Le Fondre!) after a mistake by the United keeper. Easy finish. Has been fairly even so far.

2-2. Good goal from Bryan after a great burst of pace on the wing. Hoping to cadge a team sheet at HT.

3-2 to United. Mistimed challenge on the edge of our box by no.6.
Had looked assured otherwise.

Half time 3-2. Ryan Tioffo with a speculative 30 yarder. Couldn’t quite lift it over the keeper but he’s looked lively for us so far. Happy to receive the ball in tight spaces. I’ve been impressed.
Chris Casper let me snap his team sheet

To be fair our lad (Dan Sassi) was pretty frustrated with himself.
My only doubt from the stand was whether it was in the box or not

Interested to see Vimal Yoganathen amongst our subs.
Unusual name. Doing abit of digging- looks like he’s a young welsh lad
A BUDDING footballer has signed a deal with Liverpool Football Club’s academy.
Vimal Yoganathan, aged eight, of Trelawnyd, signed the deal in the presence of Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and will start training with the academy immediately.
Vimal was originally scouted by the club at the age of six while playing for Prestatyn Town, and has spent the last year in the Academy’s shadow squad before making the step up.

Re: U17s vs United. Premier League cup
Crikey 5 goals in the 1st half, can't say you're not getting your money's worth.
Sounds like we're giving Utd a good game, which shows just how far we've come in our youth system.

Free to get in so definitely getting value for money!
Definitely matching them. And great to see our lads playing food football on the deck with good close control. Bodes well.

Re: U17s vs United. Premier League cup
No problem. A very encouraging performance. We’ve been on too second half. Bryan could have had a second curling over after trickery in the box.
Rohan Vaughan has also made a difference 2nd half with strong running up front.
Unfortunately Bryan has just been subbed off with a knock.
Lucas Wane on to replace him.
I fancy a winner in this game. Come on lads.

And that could be that.
3-4. Benn Ward good finish from a corner to put us ahead.

Ethen Vaughan, the lad we signed from Norwich this summer said his younger brother was in the academy. This must be him who has come on as a sub.Father Jack wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 8:30 pmNo problem. A very encouraging performance. We’ve been on too second half. Re: U17s vs United. Premier League cup
Again sorry my fault for not being clear.
We’re winning 4-3.
Don’t think I’ll get the clubs official social media gig
We’ve had another couple of decent chances to kill the game.
Now got some defending to do with a struggle to clear our lines.
Lucas Wane has also looked good and tricky since coming on.
All these years with a lack of wingers and we’ve got some good ones coming through on this showing. Great to see.

Indian name, Hindu, is Vimal Yoganathan. Means Pure (vi-mala, literally free of dirt) and the 'lord of yoga', usually a name of Śiva. He's probably of Tamil origin. Mostly Śaivite Hindus in Tamil Nadu.

2 to go and United pushing forwards.
Successive corners for them. Pushing and shoving in the box so it’s getting abit heated

No problem. I’m back home now and my hands are warming up so no excuse for any more typos.
Selfishly I hope we’ll get more games at Leyland this season because it’s perfect for me. And will be great to see how this age group develop and how many will be able to carve out a career in the game. Fingers crossed.
