One goal from open play isn’t it? And that was the belter from Cornet from an excellent Vydra assist which kinda backs up my point.

Is the city keeper, Ederson, more skilful than any of our outfield players?

Re: Today's footie 3/10/21
Doesn’t back up any point for me. My argument is based on the overall performances prior to yesterday. I don’t think we’ve got the results out performances have deserved.
Re: Today's footie 3/10/21
What a pass that was to Foden from Ederson. Top class.
Re: Today's footie 3/10/21
We've probably been the worst team in the league defensively not sure what performances are saying otherwise.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 5:20 pmDoesn’t back up any point for me. This match is enthralling. They are by a mile the best two teams in the league.

How was that not a yellow card, then referee gives Liverpool a soft free kick to send Pep over the edge.
Re: Today's footie 3/10/21
Milner should be off, Pep is appalled at the Ref.

2-2
What a league the PL is at the very top, incredible teams, the standard has never been higher.

I’m sat here wondering just how teams like ours are playing in the same league as these two.

Brilliant afternoon of football. Didnt see the Spurs game but both the Palace and West Ham games were a great watch and then City/Liverpool has lived up to the billing to finish it off

I'm surprised they don't steal officials from other countries and sign them to contracts.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 6:12 pmbeing let down by inept officials imho, there are only a few top refs

Agree ct, it is wonderful to see two teams playing out and out attacking football, running at pace with the ball, getting lots of players in dangerous positions, all playing with skill, vision and technique. A joy to watch.

The top 4 are so far ahead of the rest of us it's not a competition there is almost 3 leagues, top 4,mid table possible Europe qualifiers, then the rest of us scraping points ascend where can.
Re: Today's footie 3/10/21
A straight forward officiating decision and what does he do tierney, decides he hasn’t see it, thinks it’s not a foul or makes his own rules up. Mike Dean takes the wrath of Pep, said nothing and did nothing, I sometimes wonder what is the point. The games are becoming farcical.
Re: Today's footie 3/10/21
With the squad they have and the spending capacity I think they are, just need a decent manager.

Re: Today's footie 3/10/21
Grealish is a hinderance for them. They should of spent the money on a striker. They accommodate him in a system he doesn’t suit, he holds on to the ball for too long and slows play down when City are all about pass and move.
Re: Today's footie 3/10/21
Was thinking this myself watching. He’s definitely got to adapt his game if he’s to succeed I think. Foden far better out on the left than he has been.PadihamThickNeck wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 7:37 pmGrealish is a hinderance for them. They should of spent the money on a striker. Re: Today's footie 3/10/21
Foden is an absolute superstar in the making. Can't wait to see how he features for England over the next decade
As for the officiating in that game, it's just a joke. It was a definite foul on Foden on the edge of the box. And I think it probably continues into the box. I think that's a penalty.
But the Milner incident is just unbelievable. If a referee sees that foul and doesn't give a yellow, then as previously stated, what's the point??
