I’d start Barnes and Vydra...
Pope
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
McNeil Brownhill Westwood Cornet
Barnes Vydra
Wood working hard but struggling to find form so I’d like to see how Barnes and Vydra combine together especially with McNeil and Cornet providing service/support.

There isn't a game at the moment when I'd start Barnes
He has to get back to the Barnes who does more than back into players and fall over first

Be great for the lad if he does, to show him the top level he needs to get to.
Lets hope we took enough tickets so all his family can watch him. What dreams are made of for young footballers and their families.

Re: I’d start Barnes and Vydra...
Wood strangely starting the season out of form again, similar to when he was missing headers for fun last season.
If it is Mee who is injured, thats a concern although I thought Collins looked good against Norwich. Citeh will be an altogether different challenge, though.

Re: I’d start Barnes and Vydra...
The latest training vid on Clarets+ showed no sign of Ben, so He definitely won't play Saturday.
It doesn't look like he is even on the grass, so it doesn't look good long term.
Have the club announced what his injury was?

Wood scored for NZ in the week, his goals tend to come in batches so am sure he’ll be starting

It won't be but I'd go
Hennessy
Lowton Tarky Collins Pieters
Lennon Cork Brownhill JBG
Jay Barnes
For both this and the Spurs Cup game
Pope
Roberts Tarky Mee ( Collins if Mee still injured ) Taylor
Cornet Westwood Brownhill McNeil
Vydra Wood
For both Southampton and Brentford.
We need our strongest 11 fully fit and fresh for the games we have got the best chance of picking up points in.
Gives the squad minutes, and no need for the best players to play 3 games in 7 days.
Man City away and Spurs in Cup come way down in the games of priority.

Mee has tested positive for Covid (if we're allowed to mention that on here).

Wonder whether it was recent, so out next week, or he’s already served a good proportion of it during the international break?

they're not a easy team for an experienced player to play against never mind someone new to the role

I didn't know earlier that the reason for Mee's absence this Saturday was going to be revealed by the club.

I think they should all “get covid” and call off the city game... but I guess then we’d have to play it another time so might as well just get it over and done with. Use it to get full fitness for the lads.

Re: I’d start Barnes and Vydra...
Instead of Wood, that's a bit radical
Re: I’d start Barnes and Vydra...
‘ Wood working hard’ Really? Just have a look at his other forwards in PL work hard and then compare that to Wood. Sorry but he hasn’t worked hard enough for this season.

Based off no Mee/Vydra/Taylor
Bit of speed on the flanks and loads of experience if nothing else
Pope
Lowton Tarky Collins Pieters
Dwight Brownhill Cork Cornet
Jay Wood

Well I put five dollars on the Clarets to win straight up so I have faith.
Btw... anyone have a five dollar bill I can borrow? I seem to have misplaced mine.

It would be irresponsible to lend money to a man who has already misplaced his own, then wants to bet the borrowed five bucks on Burnley beating Man City. Sorry friend, I’m out….

Re: I’d start Barnes and Vydra...
I'm a big Barnes fan and was desperate for him to come on against Norwich The moment was perfect for him to get stuck in and refind his form.
Unfortunately he didn't and it leaves me to suspect he's pretty much finished here.

He came on against Norwich for the last ten mins. I only think Jay was ahead of him due to his heroics in the cup. Very much doubt he’s finished, you get the impression Dyche remains a big fan.

Re: I’d start Barnes and Vydra...
Well i'm glad you won't be picking the team...
Wood may well be out of form at the minute, but he won't find it in the dugout. We learnt last season he is capable of playing himself back into form... he plays for me, alongside Vyds. Barnes gets nowhere near the team...
