Coudn't agree more about Wood. He's started this season worse than last. Does not deserve a place in the squad, never mind the team.

Doesn't deserve a place in the squad? Bizarre stance to take.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 4:19 pmhttps://www.lancs.live/sport/football/f ... o-21885984

He's one of the most sensible pundits out there tbh, usually gets things spot on, with well thought out opinions etc.Wile E Coyote wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 11:57 pmmurphy, another in a long line of parasites who suck the pundit money from anyone who's paying. BBC talk sport, sky, Bt, quite happy to work for the Sun as well as an ex liverpool player. money grubbing pixie.

I think suggesting he shouldn't be in the squad is odd.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 4:31 pmSo you think a player who misses chance afer chance after chance, and rarely makes any effort at a challenge deserves to play? Fair enough. This board is all about opinions.

That's why colin murray resigned from talk sport because of the sun's stance on Liverpool.
just do your homework.

So in summary Danny Murphy has never worked for The Sun.Wile E Coyote wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 9:56 pmthe same group that control the sun, own talk sport, the "wireless group"

Re: MOTD
I hope not. I'd prefer him to be in form this side of Christmas unlike last season.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 4:44 pmThat was pretty funny tbh, fingers crossed he does it again this year
It does amuse me that some supporters have no concept of form, though. Chris Wood was in dire form the first half of last season and was in excellent form in the second half, thats just how it works.
Anyone suggesting Wood shouldnt even be in the squad are mental, btw.

Re: MOTD
Appleton, I don't think we, as Burnley fans, would be in any frame of mind to forgive that rag if they'd had done what they did to us.
Your lad's lying there dying and the paper accuses other Clarets of rifling his pockets or ******* on him ? Fair play if you're prepared to accept that. I wouldn't be.
Btw, a boycott is hardly a "vendetta", is it ?

It appears we now have an elected spokesperson!
Re: MOTD
Fair point fairly made and you are right I wouldn't. The vendetta comes from criticism of Murphy for being employed by an associate company of the Sun. I worked at girobank so have some insight but no connection to the Sun.

Re: MOTD
I’d personally forgive them not that they deserve forgiveness, in life you forgive for your own benefit you can’t live like a twisted bitter person well you can but it doesn’t get you very far.

All very admirable and, fwiw, I don't generally hold grudges and with one or two exceptions on here, don't wish anyone any ill-will. Joke.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 10:12 amI’d personally forgive them not that they deserve forgiveness, in life you forgive for your own benefit you can’t live like a twisted bitter person well you can but it doesn’t get you very far.
If you are saying that you would forgive an organisation that deliberately printed lies involving your dying son, merely to sensationalise a tragic incident and sell more papers, then fair play to you. I wouldn't but, then again, neither would I live like a "bitter, twisted person".
Neither would I consider myself to be a Clarets' spokesperson. You might and I'm flattered, I'm sure, but I don't.

Re: MOTD
You not read his previous nonsense ? Has a strong dislike of Wood (at least though he has realised that constantly calling him Wooden isn't funny and has stopped) and would much rather "Barney" play instead of him.

Re: MOTD
I’m sorry did I quote you? The twisted & bitter person was just a general comment I wasn’t referring to you or people involved in the tragic incident generally speaking if you hold grudges it can eat away at you & change your personality/demeanour, the clarets spokesperson comment was directed at you because you was guessing what my opinion could have been on the subject & that assessment was way off because I would forgive the sun newspaper because times a healer & if I recall correctly an apology was issued at the time, saying that I wasn’t directly involved so I can understand why some people might not forgive it’s different when you are emotionally attached you tend to have stronger feelings about something.evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 11:00 amAll very admirable and, fwiw, I don't generally hold grudges and with one or two exceptions on here, don't wish anyone any ill-will. Re: MOTD
If you look you can see that I said "I don't think we as Burnley fans etc etc" so it's hardly acting as a spokesperson, is it ?
Your advocating forgiveness is a wondrous thing. How about forgiving our team for taking the knee and actually going to watch them again ?

Assuming somebody’s opinion is the same as your own when it isn’t tells a different story, I’ll start attending when the knee bending business stops & not until you can’t forgive when it’s ongoing, I miss attending & still closely follow things on here & elsewhere but it’s not the same.evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 5:28 pmIf you look you can see that I said "I don't think we as Burnley fans etc etc" so it's hardly acting as a spokesperson, is it ?

Re: MOTD
Correct version !
"Assuming somebody’s opinion is the same as your own when it isn’t tells a different story,"
Again, I'll point out that saying I think something might be true (or not) is NOT assuming anything about anyone. The "think" assumes some doubt, surely.
I've no problem with your values, what you do or don't do is up to you but I find it odd that you'd forgive a newspaper printing lies about your dying son - the example we used earlier - but not a group of players denouncing racism.
Anyway, your choice.
Have a good night.

Re: MOTD
I did say I wasn’t emotionally attached the forgiveness was on that basis, obviously if you had lost a close family member that level of forgiveness regarding the sun wouldn’t be so generous & yes you are right you never said with absolute 100% certainty although an element of doubt did exist, I kind of agree with you in some ways so it’s a strange situation for me to be in, denouncing racism is probably the bit where we disagree but that’s opening BLM & the Pandora’s box.evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 7:04 pmCorrect version !
