Toney
Kind of glad we didn't manage to buy him, came across as a whinging self-obsessed tw@t.
First good tackle from Tarks and he was finished in the game.

Re: Toney
Not his game today, as said, tarks took care of him, but on his day he's proved to be a handful for defences.

Re: Toney
Cornet has twice the amount of PL goals in half the games this season.
Make of that what you will.

Re: Toney
Looked ok but hard to judge him due to the poor service he had all day.

Re: Toney
He was supposedly Premier League bound when he appeared on the Turf with Peterborough, but I wasn’t impressed with him in relation to that expectation that day. Nothing has changed.

Re: Toney
He’ll score quite a few goals this season I think, not his game yesterday but he looks a decent player
Re: Toney
Likewise when he came on against us for Bristol City in the cup. His style does not match up well v tarks.Claretforever wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 11:07 pmHe was supposedly Premier League bound when he appeared on the Turf with Peterborough, but I wasn’t impressed with him in relation to that expectation that day. Re: Toney
Had one excellent effort yesterday, which was saved brilliantly by Nick Pope. If that had gone in it might have been a different game for Tony and Brentford.
Re: Toney
To be fair he should have given Pope no chance but the save was still excellent at a key point in the gameIWOODLOVETT wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 12:53 pmHad one excellent effort yesterday, which was saved brilliantly by Nick Pope. He might be in that group with Mitrovic, Gayle and Vidra!

Re: Toney
Reminds me of a lot of similar strikers, like Tammy Abraham and before him Carlton Cole - but in particular Ollie Watkins, who also played for Brentford.
All quick, having an eye for goal, given licence to roam around and relishing the big stage in their first full seasons. Toni's a big fish in a small pond now and I'm sure he'll move on for big money (it's what Brentford do) but next season will be the acid test of how good he really is.
Incidentally I think Brentford are having a enjoying a good first half to the season like Sheff Utd and Norwich first time round, but will drop like a stone after Christmas.
