Yes, because I thought they were below par.

How many would you give them?

Fair enough. My ratings were from watching on a stream, and maybe they'd have been slightly different had I been there, but I call it as I see it, as I'm sure you will say you do.

Pope 9* - fantastic today, a couple.of top drawer saves, some.really good claims and his kicking was solid!
Lowton 7 - a solid performance.
Tarkowski 8 - played really well throughout I thought.
Mee 6 - first half I thought he was really poor but much better I the second.
Taylor 7 - some good blocks and showed some excellent distribution. Today, one ball into Wood in the box in particular which unfortunately was wasted.
Gudmunson 6 - played OK, a little slow on the ball at times. Completely taken out in the second half which should have been a yellow card but somehow wasn't a free kick (I think they almost scored too).
Brownhill 7 - a tough one to mark because at times his use of the ball was so poor, but he stuck at it. Won plenty of the ball and played a big part in us getting on top towards the end.
Westwood 7 - brilliant ball for the goal and worked hard throughout.
McNeil8 - strangely wasteful at times in the first half but his work rate was phenomenal. Thought his use of the ball was much better in the second.
Wood 4 - struggled today, didn't win enough in the air and wasteful when he got the ball into feet.
Cornet 7 - I thought he was much better off the ball today and looked a threat throughout.

Jay 7 - great knock down for the goal and played well other than the poor decision when he was put through.
Vydra 7 - cool.finish for the goal, could he have won it though?

Chelsea were excellent for periods in the first and second halfs but we were a little too open fory liking and looked strangely susceptible from set plays (thankfully that got sorted midway through the first half). The changes by Dyche were really effective and the teams execution of the plan in the latter stages perfect. This was like our performances of old, under lots of pressure at times but stuck in the game really well and scored when we got on top, managing the game thereafter excellently.

I too thought Wood and Gudmundsson weren't at their best, but a 5 for Westwood who played the ball in for the goal seems very unfair.

Possibly, I just thought he was rather anonymous for most of the game, albeit against very good players.

Pope. 9 MOM getting back to his best, after a below par(by his standards) start to the season.
Lawton. 7 Another strong performance.
Taylor. 8 lost count of the number of times he got a block in, against Reece James one of their better players
Mee. 8 captains performance
Tarks 7 solid as usual
Jbg . 6 need him to find the form he’s capable of, now he seems to be fully fit
Westwood 6 tough job for him today against as good a midfield as we’ve faced this season
Brownhill 7 tried his best against their midfield three
McNeil 8 put in a real shift defensively. tried to get it going forward, but never stopped running. Seems to be filling out and getting stronger.
Cornet 7 getting up to speed with pace of the premier league
Wood 5 didn’t get going today, snuffed out by their centre backs

J Rod 7 great assist, but why he didn’t shoot with late chance I’ll never know
Vyds 7 nicely taken goal

I will watch the full rerun on Sky tomorrow and do some ratings but a combo of 5Live and Twitter weren’t mentioning Wood or JBG much so if someone thinks they were below par that wouldn't surprise me.

Fantastic result overall, but probably a better result than performance. Best performance of these tough away games was probably Man City but in truth we’ve played well in all of them apart from 20 minutes at Everton. Have we ever had 6 tougher away games to start a season?

Pope 9. Getting back to his best
Lowton 8
Tarks 8
Mee 7
Taylor 7
JGB 6
Brownhill 7
Westwood 7 Quality ball for our goal
McNeil 7
Cornet 7
Wood 6

JRod 7 Why didn’t he shoot but good assist
Vydra 8 could have nicked it at the death

Special mention for SD. Tactically near perfect. His plan today was the only way we could have possibly have got a result today and no hysteria when we scored unlike the Chelsea jackass showed more than once

Pope 10* - back to his very best
Lowton 8 - crucial goal saving block on Havertz which the ref missed and gave a goal kick
Tarkowski 8 - goal aside I thought he and Mee did well
Mee 8 - as above
Taylor 8 - some excellent tackling and was a good outlet down the left especially second half
JBG 7 - worked hard to keep Chilwell quiet
Westwood 8 - fine cross for the goal and kept at it throughout
Brownhill 8 - the toughest midfield 2 they will face all season and made some excellent interceptions, was also a big part in our better play in the last 15 - 20
McNeil 8 - tidy throughout, composed and generally good use of the ball
Wood 5 - wasn’t great, didn’t win much in the air and his second touch was a tackle (albeit against 3 excellent Chelsea defenders)
Cornet 7 - didn’t quite happen today like in others and just mis timed a run in behind which I felt was a good chance but at least we carry that threat now

Vydra 8 - was everything Wood wasn’t today in the short time he had, won headers, free kicks to relieve pressure and scored
Jay 7 - we looked far tidier going forward with him and Vydra on, good assist but strange decision when 1 on 1

Surprised to see a few scoring just 6s and 7s for a result like that against arguably the best team in Europe right now.

Pope 9 - technical masterclass
Lowton 7 strong and kept at it
Tarkowski 7 busy and switched on
Mee 8 took a headbutt and some and remained very solid
Taylor 8 great blocks and some clever play
Gudmundsson 6 mainly effort as he was unable to take on anyone and provided nothing of note
Westwood 6 overrun for much of game worked hard
Brownhill 7 late rallying kept us in it
McNeil 7 some nice crossfield passes
Cornet 7 little to feed on but touch of steel
Wood 5 slow ,no confidence and hooked

Rodriguez 7 smart assist, lively, misjudged great chance
Vydra 7 tap in goal , v lively on scraps and scuffed a chance

Chelsea are incredibly good, talk about a well oiled machine , highly impressive . We hung in, never parked the bus and kept our chins up ,very well deserved point indeed.Dyche used subs well . We’ve truly turned the corner(t)

Not really, Wood was terrible today. We can be blinkered at times, especially when we earn a huge point away at a superb Chelsea, but he offered very little and didn't afford the defence the chance of a breather by holding up the ball or bringing others into play.
He'll come again though, he always does....

In Woods' defense ...he was being held down by Rudiger most of the game.
Rudiger is a master at it.

From tv

Pope…...9 MoM
Lowton..8
Tarks……8
Mee……..8
Taylor….8
JBG……..7
Brownhill.7
Westwood.7
McNeil……7
Wood……..6
Cornet……7

JRod………7
Vydra…….7
Pieters…..n/a

Terrific effort from everyone out there against a far superior team. We didn’t do enough with the ball, until the last 15mins, to give any forward player above 7 but their workrate was outstanding.

Pope 9 …. When he caught that corner at the end it was like a goal !
Lowton 8
Taylor 8…. Both full backs defended really well and tried to get forward
Tarks 8
Mee 8
McNeil 7…. Immense workrate
Brownhill 7
Westwood 7
JBG 6
Wood 5
Cornet 6… not really criticising the forwards it’s a hard place for them to make an impact

Vydra 8
Jay. 7

Great support from the fans today and the away end was a brilliant place to be.

Westwood and Brownhill were totally overrun for the majority of the game
JBG was ineffective for most of the game
Wood was given the usual high ball service and Rudiger had him beat most times - his ball control also was wanting
Cornet also really struggled today against this very good side
Chelsea missed a number of good chances
Pope made some absolutely brilliant saves
The truth was we were very lucky to come away with a point as we could have been four down in the first 15 mins
But, no matter how grateful we are, that point should not stop people marking some players low if their personal performances were not good

Fair enough. My ratings were from watching on a stream, and maybe they'd have been slightly different had I been there, but I call it as I see it, as I'm sure you will say you do.
Your ratings are fine - we were very poor in the final third and didn't make the ball stick
I don't give scores for running around

Or maybe consider the level of opposition we were playing, how strong they are defensively (hadn’t conceded a goal in open play all season) and possess two of the best ball winning central midfielders in the world.

You are right
And that made some of our players so ineffective
But should that mean you mark people higher than they actually were
I thought the idea was to mark players based on their individual performance on the day

Factoring in the level of opposition seems pretty obvious if you understand football.
